ne assiale e coronale, perché ci permette di diagnosticare<br />
con precisione l’estensione delle lesioni sinusali<br />
e di fare diagnosi differenziale con altre patologie<br />
che possono interessare il distretto rinosinusale,<br />
anche se la diagnosi definitiva rimane essenzialmente<br />
istolologica. Il trattamento chirurgico gold standard,<br />
per queste patologie, è la chirurgia endoscopica<br />
funzionale dei seni paranasali (FESS). A differenza<br />
della chirurgia tradizionale (intervento di Caldwell-<br />
Luc, di Citelli, di Ogston-Luc, etc.), la FESS è una<br />
tecnica minimamente invasiva, non provoca danni<br />
estetici, ripristina la fisiologica aerazione dei seni<br />
paranasali asportando porzioni limitate delle strutture<br />
anatomiche e conservando, il più possibile, il rivestimento<br />
mucoso.<br />
