PROBLEMS RELATED TO <strong>SEP</strong> <strong>40</strong> TO PC CONNECTION<br />
Due a large variety of parallel port types, a case may occur when the programmer cannot “get<br />
concerted” with the PC. This problem may be shown as none communication between the PC and<br />
the programmer, or by unreliable communication.<br />
- If this behavior occurs, try to connect your programmer to some other PCs or other parallel ports<br />
near you.<br />
- Please remember that the printer port where the programmer is connected must be configured<br />
as IEEE 1284 compatible. You should check in the BIOS configuration of Your computer that<br />
the port is set as ECP/EPP. Or, if You use a multi I/O card, assure that it can be configured and<br />
used as IEEE 1284 compatible.<br />
- Try to set the parallel port as Centronics compatible (or standard, or normal, or SPP, according<br />
to the BIOS manufacturer, all these denominations refer to the same setting for the parallel<br />
port). This could decrease performance but assure the highet communication reliability.<br />
If You can't find any solution, please contact grifo ® directly. Provide us an accurate description of<br />
Your PC configuration, including some other circumstances bearing on the problem in question.<br />
Don’t forget please to tell PC type, manufacturer, speed, operating system type and version, resident<br />
programs; your parallel port I/O manufacturer and type.<br />
LEDS<br />
<strong>SEP</strong> <strong>40</strong> is provided with 4 LEDs to visualize power supply status and operating programmer status.<br />
Please refer to figure 11 to locate the LEDs.<br />

At power on, it lights for a few seconds, then turns<br />
off.<br />
When on, indicated that the programmer is<br />
accessing the target device for reading or writing.<br />
Do not touch the target device when this LED is<br />
on.<br />
When on, this LED indicates that the last operation<br />
concluded successfully.<br />
When on, this LED indicated that an error<br />
condition occoured.<br />
