READ THIS MANUAL carefully to learn how to operate<br />
and service your machine correctly. Failure to do so<br />
could result in personal injury or equipment damage.<br />
THIS MANUAL SHOULD BE CONSIDERED a permanent<br />
part of your machine and should remain with the<br />
machine when you sell it.<br />
RIGHT-HAND AND LEFT-HAND sides are determined<br />
by facing the direction the implement will travel<br />
when going forward.<br />
SETTING FUEL DELIVERY BEYOND PUBLISHED factory<br />
specifications or otherwise overpowering will result in<br />
loss of warranty protection for this machine.<br />
THIS LAWN MOWER IS DESIGNED SOLELY for use in<br />
customary lawn mowing (“INTENDED USE"”. Use in<br />
any other way is considered as contrary to the intended<br />
use. The manufacturer accepts no liability for<br />
damage or injury resulting from this misuse, and<br />
these risks must be borne solely by the user. Compliance<br />
with and strict adherence to the conditions of<br />
operation, service and repair as specified by the<br />
manufacturer also constitute essential elements for<br />
the intended use.<br />
THIS LAWN MOWER SHOULD BE OPERATED, serviced<br />
and repaired only by persons familiar with all its<br />
particular characteristics and acquainted with the<br />
relevant safety rules (accident prevention). The<br />
accident prevention regulations, all other generally<br />
recognized regulations on safety and occupational<br />
medicine must be observed at all times. Any<br />
arbitrary modifications carried out on this lawn<br />
mower will relieve the manufacturer of all liability for<br />
any resulting damage or injury.<br />

W2. General Safety Guidelines for the hand held<br />
rotary lawnmower (petrol)<br />
– For your own safety and in order to ensure the<br />
functioning of the lawnmower, please read these<br />
instructions carefully.<br />
– Please remember, that the operator of the<br />
machine or the person using the machine is not<br />
only responsible for endangering other people or<br />
their property, but is also responsible for accidents<br />
which occur whilst using the machine.<br />
– This instruction manual is part of the delivery<br />
quantity of the lawnmower and must be provided<br />
to the purchaser of the lawnmover in the event<br />
of resale.<br />
– Never allow children or persons under the age of<br />
16 or orther persons who are not familiar with the<br />
instructions on how to operate the machine, to<br />
use the machine. Please note, that local regulations<br />
can determine the minimum age of the<br />
person allowed to use the machine.<br />
– Please explain the possible dangers and how to<br />
prevent accidents to every person who is supposed<br />
to work with this machine.<br />
– Please store your lawnmower in safe place.<br />
Lawnmowers which are not being used, should be<br />
stored in a dry, locked room which is inaccessible<br />
to children.<br />
– The lawnmower is only designed for the care of<br />
grassy areas and lawns. If they are being used in<br />
public areas, parks, sports grounds, roads and in<br />
agricultural and forest areas, special care must<br />
be taken.<br />
– The machine must not be used in connection with<br />
any accessories which have not been approved<br />
by JOHN DEERE, because in doing so, the handover<br />
permit and any guarantees then become<br />
null and void.<br />
– The lawnmower may not be used to trim bushes,<br />
hedges and shrubs, it may not be used to cut<br />
climbing plants or plants growing on roofs and<br />
on balconies, to vacuum or clear pavements.<br />
– You must never mow if there are persons, especially<br />
children or animals, nearby.<br />
Preparatory measures<br />
– Whilst mowing, you must always wear proper<br />
shoes and long trousers. Do not use the lawnmower<br />
if you are barefoot or wearing sandals.<br />
– Always check the area in which you intend to use<br />
the lawnmower completely for stones, sticks, wires<br />
