I <strong>cr<strong>it</strong>eri</strong> <strong>di</strong> resistenza (o teorie della <strong>rottura</strong>) definiscono un legame tra<br />
lo stato tensionale e la sua pericolos<strong>it</strong>à<br />

Ogni stato tensionale può essere rappresentato da una funzione<br />
scalare delle tensioni principali che può essere confrontata con un<br />

Al valore <strong>di</strong> tale funzione scalare viene dato il nome <strong>di</strong> tensione<br />
equivalente q (o ( Ideale). )<br />
Al valore cr<strong>it</strong>ico del materiale viene dato il nome <strong>di</strong> tensione lim<strong>it</strong>e.<br />
Il rapporto tra la tensione lim<strong>it</strong>e del materiale e la tensione<br />
equivalente è il coefficiente <strong>di</strong> sicurezza della struttura.<br />
