LABORATORIO TUTE
Resistenza alla combustione (Fig. 1)
Come richiesto dallo standard FIA 8856-2000, ogni singolo strato di tessuto
per le tute ignifughe è testato per verificarne la resistenza alla combustione
secondo lo standard ISO 15025.
L’obiettivo è verificare che la durata media di permanenza della fiamma
sul tessuto, dopo l’applicazione per 10 s di una fiamma di gas propano di
opportuna altezza, sia inferiore ai 2 s (par. 8.1 Standard FIA 8856-2000).
Trasmissione del calore (Fig. 2)
Come richiesto dallo standard FIA 8856-2000, l’insieme degli strati dei
tessuti per le tute ignifughe è testato per determinarne la trasmissione del
calore secondo lo standard
ISO 9151.
L’obiettivo è verificare che
l’indice di trasferimento
termico HTI24 (definito come
tempo medio necessario per
innalzare la temperatura di
24 °C a seguito dell’effetto
di un flusso termico di 80
kW/m2 ottenuto con fiamma
di gas propano) sia uguale
o superiore a 11 s (par. 8.2
Standard FIA 8856-2000).
Le tute Sabelt hanno HTI24
largamente superiori al
minimo richiesto.
SUIT LAB
Test for limited flame spread (Fig. 1)
As required by FIA 8856-2000 standard, each single fabric layer of fireproof
suits is tested to verify burning resistance following ISO 15025 standards.
The aim is to verify the average combustion time to be less than 2 s, after
the application for 10s of a propane gas flame (par. 8.1 Standard FIA 8856-
2000).
Heat Transmission (Fig. 2)
As required by FIA 8856-2000 standard, the total layers are tested to
determine heat transmission following ISO 15025 standards.
The aim is to verify HT124 heat transmission rate (defined as the average
time needed to increase temperature of 24 °C / 75.2 °F due to 80 kW/m2 obtained through propane gas flame) is equal or superior to 11 s (par. 8.2
Standard FIA 8856-2000). All Sabelt fireproof overalls have successfully
obtained HT124.

massimo contenimento laterale al pilota.
Il sedile è completato da staffe in alluminio per il fissaggio delle cinture
di sicurezza a 5 o 6 punti.
I test statici e dinamici previsti dalle norme SFI per le gare del circuito
NASCAR sono stati superati brillantemente: il sedile ha resistito ad
una sequenza di 6 urti laterali e frontali con impulsi di oltre 70 g e con
manichino di più di 100 kg.

The Carbon fiber shell is composed by two different parts: the seat and
the headrest.
Both of these two parts have been designed to offer the best lateral
restraint to the driver.
The seat is finished with aluminium brakets to fix the 5 or 6 points
harnesses.
The seat passed SFI static and dynamic tests very well: it resisted to a
sequence of 6 lateral and frontal crash with pulses of more than 70 g
and a dummy of more than 100 kg.

IN TERMOFORMATURA + RTM:
– Un guscio in ABS termoformato consente di ottenere standard
qualitativi molto più elevati della finitura estetica con gel-coat
tradizionale e una superficie completamente antigraffio.
– La lastra di ABS viene termoformata accoppiata con una pellicola
trasparente, che costituisce una protezione della scocca durante tutte
le operazioni di produzione e di trasporto dalla linea al cliente.
– Impiegare una lastra in ABS permette una vastissima gamma di
possibili personalizzazioni della scocca: colori, carbon-look, grafiche.
– Una scocca con la struttura realizzata in RTM è progettabile
interamente a CAD, con il vantaggio di sfruttare a pieno le
potenzialità delle simulazioni virtuali.
– Attraverso l’ottimizzazione a calcolo degli strati di fibra è possibile sia
ridurre il peso della scocca, sia irrigidire la scocca stessa nelle zone
particolarmente sottoposte a sollecitazioni.

– The ABS thermoformed shell permits to obtain quality standards better
than the aesthetic finish of the traditional gel-coat and a completely
antiscratch surface.
– The ABS sheet is thermoformed with a transparent film, which is
a protection for the shell during all the production and logistic
operations.
– The ABS shell permits a lot of customizations: colors, carbon-look,
designs.
– The structure of the shell made with RTM process can be all projected
by CAD, in this way it is possible to take the advantage of the 3D
simulations potentiality.
– By the optimization of the layers by the 3D simulation is it possible to
reduce the weight the shell and to stiffen the shell in its most stressed
areas during the homologation tests.

ROLL BAR/ROLL CAGES
I roll bar Sabelt si distinguono per la qualità di fabbricazione e
di progettazione, senza compromessi per la sicurezza: strutture
generosamente dimensionate e pensate con l’ottica del cliente finale, di
chi cioè il roll bar lo va a montare in vettura.
La gamma, di facile montaggio, si compone di roll bar multipunti
omologati al CrMo, e di roll bar in acciaio E235 conformi all’Allegato “J”
della FIA.
La modalità di montaggio è la saldatura per i multipunti al CrMo, e mista
saldatura/imbullonatura per quelli conformi all’Allegato “J”.
La gamma dei roll bar Sabelt si compone di 4 tipologie principali:
da saldare, da imbullonare, gabbia e multipunti.

Sabelt roll cages are characterized by the high quality in production
and development, without making any compromise with safety: well
dimensioned structures designed following final customer’s needs.
Easy mounting Sabelt roll cages range includes CrMo multipoints
homologated and steel E235 ones which comply FIA annex J.
Multipoints roll cages have to be welded while annex J ones might be
bolt-in or bolt-in and welded.

Il nuovo rollbar è stato disegnato e progettato in collaborazione con RalliArt Italia
direttamente sulla scocca della Mitsubishi Evo X.
Questo ha permesso di ottimizzare sia la protezione degli occupanti sia l’abitabilità
garantendo la possibilità di montare sulle vetture sedili di qualsiasi dimensione.
L’impiego di acciaio CrMo l’ha reso il rollbar più leggero prodotto per Evo X (solo
45 KG!).
I test omologativi hanno fornito eccellenti risultati.

The new roll cage has been designed and developed together with RalliArt Italia
directly on the chassis of Mitsubishi EvoX, optimizing the protection and the comfort of
occupants with the possibility of mounting seats of every size.
The roll cage, with the use of CrMo steel, is the lightest roll cage ever produced for
Evo X (only 45 KG). Homologation tests carried out in one of the most modern Italian
test-houses, in compliance with FIA regulation, gave excellent results.
