La casa motociclistica americana in Sicilia<br />
ha organizzato tre giorni tutti al femminile<br />
per dare il via all’“<strong>Harley</strong> in <strong>rosa</strong>”,<br />
un’iniziativa dove protagoniste sono le<br />
donne.<br />
11 “svalvolare” giornaliste motocicliste e per l’esattezza<br />
la sottoscritta, Emanuela Conti, Chiara<br />
Moniaci, Alessandra Manieri, Paola Furlan,Vanessa<br />
Anfos<strong>si</strong>, Anna Maria Malinverni, Cristina<br />
Pozzi, Uhmann Suse, Antonella Ratti,<br />
Marina Tempolilli, Roberta Bo<strong>si</strong>, in sella ad<br />
una Sportster, hanno percorso le vie della<br />
Sicilia, sfatando il mito del predominio<br />
maschile sulle due ruote.<br />
C’erano tutte le 883, tutti e sette i modelli<br />
Sportster dai colori accattivanti azzurra,<br />
gialla, arancione, grigio perla, blu<br />
notte bianca; la loro caratteristica è l’iniezione<br />
elettronica per facilitare la par
tenza ed ottimizzare l’erogazione <strong>di</strong> potenza in<strong>di</strong>pendentemente<br />
dal clima.<br />
Il giro della Sicilia è stato organizzato in due tappe.<br />
La prima tappa del tour <strong>si</strong> è svolta a Bonagia,<br />
presso un’antica tonnara <strong>si</strong>ciliana<br />
del Seicento (Trapani), <strong>si</strong>tuata all’interno<br />
dello storico borgo marinaro, dove <strong>si</strong> pernottava.<br />
Il primo giorno, un po’ con le<br />
moto e un po’ con i pulmini dell’organizzazione,<br />
è iniziato il tour, con partenza da<br />
Bonagia passando da Erice, percorrendo<br />
la via del sale fino ad arrivare a Marsala,<br />
con vi<strong>si</strong>ta alle saline Ettore e Infersa e<br />
pranzo a Mazzaro del Vallo.<br />
Il secondo tour invece con<strong>si</strong>steva nella vi<strong>si</strong>ta<br />
a San Giuseppe Jato a una fabbrica<br />
gestita da sole donne dove <strong>si</strong> realizzano<br />
ancora a mano le famose coppole “made<br />
in Sicily” che hanno sfilato anche a New<br />
York. Ultima tappa nella splen<strong>di</strong>da tenuta<br />
<strong>di</strong> Donna Fugata, a Contessa Entellina.<br />
Interessante anche il progetto “883 mo<strong>di</strong><br />
<strong>di</strong> <strong>di</strong>re <strong>Harley</strong>”: un’iniziativa rivolta non solo<br />
ad appas<strong>si</strong>onati “harleysti”, ma anche<br />
a chiunque abbia qualcosa da comunicare<br />
e trovi ispirazione dal marchio del mito<br />
americano. Dal 15 aprile fino a Novembre<br />
<strong>si</strong> potrà partecipare al progetto nelle categorie:<br />
pittura, scrittura, fotografia e<br />
scultura/3D, dopo esser<strong>si</strong> registrati nell’appo<strong>si</strong>ta sezione<br />
<strong>si</strong>tuata nel <strong>si</strong>to www.harley-davidson.it dove <strong>si</strong><br />
trova il regolamento e le modalità <strong>di</strong> partecipazione. ■<br />

The American motorcycle company has organized<br />
an event where women are the protagonists.<br />
11 female journalists who ride motorcycles: Emanuela<br />

have ridden through Sicily.<br />
All seven models of the Sportser 883 were<br />
used, in all of its colours: sky-blue,<br />
yellow, orange, grey, dark-blue<br />
and white. The special characteristic<br />
of the Sportster 883<br />
is the electric injection<br />
system which makes<br />
them start ea<strong>si</strong>er and<br />
optimizes the power<br />
supply.<br />
The Sicily tour<br />
con<strong>si</strong>sted of two<br />
legs.<br />
The first leg took place<br />
in Bonagia, in a Sicilian<br />
<strong>Harley</strong><br />

tuna-fishing ground of the 17 th Century, which is located<br />
in an historic marine village.<br />
The tour started from Bonagia and travelled through<br />
to Erice. It continued on to Marsala, with a vi<strong>si</strong>t to the<br />
salt-works of Ettore and Infersa and then it arrived to<br />
Mazara Del Vallo.<br />
The second tour con<strong>si</strong>sted of the vi<strong>si</strong>t to a factory,<br />
which is located in San Giuseppe Iato. This is the factory<br />
where the women create the famous Sicilian<br />
caps, which have been exibited also in New York. The<br />
last leg of this tour was to the farm of Donna Fugata,<br />
located in Contessa Entellina.<br />
Also the project “883 ways of saying <strong>Harley</strong>” was very<br />
interesting. It was an event organized for “<strong>Harley</strong>”<br />
fans but also for everyone who finds inspiration by the<br />
American myth. From April 15 th to November everyone<br />
can take part in this project by submitting paintings,<br />
3D sculptures, photos and writing. People can<br />
participate after sen<strong>di</strong>ng an application to the web<strong>si</strong>te<br />
