Famosa collezionista d’<strong>art</strong>e, commemorata<br />
nell’eponima collezione a Venezia, Peggy Guggenheim<br />
collezionava anche, o almeno attirava<br />
a sè, un flusso continuo di amici e conoscenti.<br />
Una successione costante di <strong>art</strong>isti, scrittori e<br />
notabili le faceva visita a Palazzo Venier dei<br />
Leoni, la sua casa veneziana.<br />
Se il clima era mite, intratteneva spesso i suoi<br />
ospiti sull’approdo davanti al palazzo. Qui, sul<br />
Canal Grande, offrendo drinks ad alcuni<br />
amici, appare con i capelli ancora neri. In<br />
seguito, avendo rinunciato agli interessi sentimentali,<br />
li lasciò imbiancare.<br />

COLLECTING ON THE GRAND CANAL<br />
Famous as an <strong>art</strong> collector, commemorated in the<br />
eponymous collection in Venice, Peggy<br />
Guggenheim also collected, or at least attracted, a<br />
flow of friends and acquaintances.<br />
A constant succession of <strong>art</strong>ists, writers and<br />
notables called on her at the Palazzo Venier dei<br />
Leoni, her Venetian home.<br />
On balmy days she often entertained her guests<br />
on the landing in front of the palace. Here, on the<br />
Grand Canal, having drinks with some friends,<br />
she appears with her hair still black.<br />
Subsequently, when she renounced any amorous<br />
interests, she let it go white.<br />
