Una Chiesa
del dopo Concilio
Il Concilio Ecumenico Vaticano II,
nella riforma liturgica, ha posto più di
40 anni fa nuovi accenti, che tendono
al rinnovamento della mentalità e
della prassi ecclesiale. La riforma
liturgica conciliare si muove intorno a
tre componenti: riti, persone e luoghi.
Penso che il cambiamento nei riti sia
ormai abbastanza attuato.
Sempre più cosciente diventa il ruolo
specifico delle persone -laici e chiericinella
liturgia. Ora le cose si sono
messe in movimento anche per i
luoghi liturgici. A distanza di anni
giungono infatti due documenti
dei Vescovi: Beni culturali in Italia
(1992) e la Progettazione di nuove
chiese (1993).
Dio. “È l’assemblea celebrante che
celebra e plasma l’architettura della
chiesa. Chi si raduna nella chiesa è la
Chiesa… che, in qualche modo, proietta,
imprime se stessa nell’edificio
di culto e vi trova tracce significative
della propria identità, della propria
storia e anticipazione del proprio
futuro”.
La liturgia cristiana non è immutabile,
tolti alcuni dati essenziali, e perciò
anche l’architettura non è immutabile.
Nella proposta conciliare ogni spazio
ha una propria configurazione:
all’assemblea viene riservata l’aula o
la navata, al sacerdote presidente una
sedia propria nel presbiterio,ai diversi
ministeri un’appropriata collocazione.
Punto di riferimento per tutti sono
l’altare e l’ambone.
I fedeli vengono così educati alla centralità
della celebrazione eucaristica.
Il Santissimo viene deposto nella
custodia eucaristica per l’adorazione,
la preghiera personale e per la comunione
ai malati, qui da noi in una
piccola cappella adattata con dignità
e decoro e ben visibile dall’aula.
liturgia.
Il fonte battesimale invece è posto
in modo che sia “significativo”,
“riservato alla celebrazione del
Sacramento, visibile all’assemblea”come
recita la norma.
La sede per la celebrazione del
Sacramento della Penitenza dà la
possibilità di “favorire la dinamica
dialogica tra penitente e ministro,
favorendo il riserbo richiesto”. Ci
5
6
si può confessare conservando
anonima la propria identità oppure a
confronto diretto con il sacerdote.
Nel programma iconografico viene
tenuto conto soprattutto delle centralità
devozionali della comunità,
collocando in diverse nicchie il
patrono San Roberto Bellarmino e
le statue della “Cunfrunta” della
“vecchia” chiesa anche nella nuova.
La nostra nuova chiesa realizza quasi
pienamente le norme dei Vescovi
anche se progettata prima della loro
emanazione. Resta forse non ideale
la soluzione della cappella feriale
e del coro. Mi convinco sempre di più
che un edificio ci educa a
quelle che sono le centralità
dell’espressione di fede nella
liturgia del popolo di Dio.
Eine Kirche nach dem
Konzil
Nicht der Raum, das Volk
Gottes ist heilig und darum
bestimmt gerade die feiernde
Gemeinschaft der Kirche die
Funktionalität des Gebäudes:
im Kirchenschiff das Volk
Gottes, im Presbyterium der
Priester. Zentrum sind der
Altar (Symbol von Christus)
und der Ambo (Verkündigung
des Wortes).
A Church after the Concil
Gods people is sacred and not the
place, and so is the community that
conditions the functions of the structure:
in the church’s nave, the people
and the presbytery the priest. In the
centre there is the alter (The symbols
of Christ) and the ambo (Gods word).
L’idea architettonica
Mi son sentito fiero e grato quando
Don Gregorio Montillo mi pregò di
progettare una chiesa per la sua
comunità in Davoli Marina. Feci
prima alcuni studi su diverse aree
finchè finalmente fu scelto il suolo
definitivo. La posizione centrale
richiedeva un punto ben visibile
per la configurazione urbanistica di
Davoli M. paese, cresciuto in modo
casuale. Non essendoci nei dintorni
richiami architettonici di rilievo, ho
concepito la struttura
come qualcosa di completamente
diverso dal
contesto, significando
così “l’altra realtà”, la
divina, che la chiesa ci
vuole mediare. È stata
mia intenzione riprendere
le semplici forme
architettoniche che
avevo incontrato nelle
vecchie chiese romani-
che e bizantine di questa regione. Mi
ispirai proprio a queste chiese per la
costruzione della nuova chiesa al
centro di una realtà urbanistica non
omogenea e confusa, tenendo però
conto delle nuove forme della liturgia
e dei bisogni della società d’oggi.
La strada prevista per arrivare alla
chiesa si prestava ad accentuare
l’entrata centrale con un campanile
che fosse segno di riconoscimento e
l’imponente tetto che accoglie chi
si avvicina.
L’interno viene strutturato dalla luce
che indica la via all’altare, passando
dall’oscurità dell’entrata alla chiarezza
del coro, simbolo della strada che
conduce alla Gerusalemme celeste.
Piccole cappelle laterali sono luoghi
per la meditazione e la preghiera
personale.
illuminata artista: Susana Polac.
Questa artista ha potuto arricchire in
7
8
Svizzera con le sue creazioni 3 delle
mie chiese.
Delle piccole viuzze ai lati della
chiesa collegano questa con la
casa e con i locali parrocchiali, cosi
chè tutto il complesso si presenta
unito, armonico, compatto, quasi
claustrale.
Benito Davi, Architetto
Die Architektur der Kirche
Die Kirche wird in einem ohne
Bauordnung entstandenen Dorf
gebaut. Sie ist “etwas ganz anderes“.
Der ganze Komplex stellt sich wie ein
einziger Bau vor, harmonisch, in
sich geschlossen, fast klösterlich mit
einem dominierenden Kirchenturm:
ein klares Erkennungszeichen im Dorf.
The Architecture of the Church
The church is built in an area where
there is no town planning. All
the complex is similar to a whole
structure, harmonic, closed in its
self showing a monastery with a
dominating church bell: a clear sign
of identification in the town.
Caratteristiche
strutturali
Il dimensionamento e le scelte degli
elementi strutturali derivano dalla
necessità di rispettare al massimo
l’idea architettonica improntata sulla
semplicità e la linearità delle forme.
La struttura in elevazione della
chiesa, pilastri e campanile, sono in
cemento armato di tipo tradizionale
e spiccano da una platea continua
costituita da una doppia soletta
piena, nervata e ventilata.
Sui pilastri poggiano le capriate
realizzate interamente in legno
lemellare, che portano la copertura
costituita da un doppio tavolato di
legno con interposto isolante ad
elevata resistenza termica e manto
superiore in lamiera di rame.
Il tavolato di copertura, adeguatamente
nervato, assolve anche il
compito strutturale di controvento
delle capriate.
Ing. Vincenzo Procopio
Die Struktur der Kirche
Die Struktur der Kirche ist von der
Einfachkeit der Elementen bestimmt.
Auf den Pilastern werden die gewaltigen
Bogen aus Pressholz gelegt.
Das Dach aus Holz ist mit stark
isolierenden Elementen und mit
Kupferfolien verbunden.
The structure of the church
The structure of the church is characterize
by the simplicity of the elements.
The impressive arches of the
church (made in lamellar wood) rest
on the pillars. The roof is in wood, and
made up in insulation elements and
covered over with layers of copper.
QUANDO I LUOGHI
PARLANO…
“Il simbolo è il tramite privilegiato
per parlare di Dio, tant’è vero che in
Matteo si legge che ‘Gesù, fuori dalla
parabola, non diceva nulla’ (13,34)
e la parabola altro non è che
un simbolo narrato... Il simbolo ci
conduce verso l’Altro divino, verso
L’Oltre eterno” (G. Ravasi).
noi. Capire la chiesa-edificio ci
aiuta così a diventare noi stessi
sempre più “pietre vive dell’edificio
spirituale” (1 a Pt 2,3).
Il Portico
Questo bellissimo elemento architettonico
ci ripara dalle intemperie e dal
sole cocente e svolge una funzione di
9
10
protezione e di rifugio, e con la
sua apertura verso tutti i lati anche
d’accoglienza.
Il portico ci manifesta un importante
compito della chiesa: quello di
accogliere e proteggere tutti ma
specialmente i poveri, i malati, gli
abbandonati. In una immagine piena
di tenerezza Gesù stesso parla
della “chioccia che raccoglie i pulcini
sotto le sue ali” (Mt. 23, 37).
Der Portal
hat die Funktion alle -aus welcher
Richtung sie auch kommen- wie in
einer Umarmung zu empfangen.
La porta
“Varcare la soglia”, il passaggio
dall’esterno all’interno: ecco il cammino
dell’uomo.
divina.
Die Türe
“Ich bin die Türe, wer durch mich
kommt, wird gerettet“ (Joh. 10,9).
Die zwei Eingänge versinnbilden
die zweifache Natur Christi: die
menschliche und die göttliche.
The porch
The porch of the church has the function
of embracing all the people
from wherever they come from
“I am the gate. Whoever comes in by
me will be saved; he will come in and
go out to find pasture” (John10,9).
The main two doors represent the
two natures of Christ: human and
divine.
La navata e il soffitto
a capriate
trovarono rifugio, salvezza e futuro.
Schiffkiel. Die Kirche ist das Schiff,
das die Menschen in den himmlischen
Hafen führt.
The nave of the church
and the covering arch is familiar to a
ships hull overturned. The church
is similar to a ship that brings the
people to the port of heaven.
Il fonte battesimale
e le forme ottagonali
La forma ottagonale è caratteristica
di tutta la chiesa. Ne rappresenta un
po’ il filo conduttore architettonico e
decorativo.
L’ottagono è infatti la traduzione
simbolica visiva del mistero centrale
della fede cristiana: la Resurrezione
del Signore Gesù, avvenuta secondo
l’espressione apostolica, l’ottavo
giorno.
Ritroviamo tale forma nel piccolo
altare del Santissimo, nel fonte
battesimale, nei portacandele, nelle
acquasantiere, nel presbiterio ecc…
Otto sono i lampadari (come le beatitudini
del Vangelo), otto le cappelle
laterali. Questa sottolineatura voluta
del numero otto diventa così un
chiaro riferimento alla Resurrezione
del Signore, “l’ottavo giorno”,
giorno della nuova creazione, della
“domenica senza fine”, della nuova
vita. In questa realtà entra colui
che crede in Cristo. Il battesimo,
innestando il cristiano nella vita del
Signore Risorto, lo immerge nel
tempo nuovo, assoluto, della vita di
comunione con Dio e con i fratelli.
11
12
Die achteckigen Formen
der ganzen Kirche erinnern “am
achten Tag” der Woche, am Tag der
Auferstehung, am Tag der neuen
Schöpfung, des Sonntags ohne Ende,
des ewigen Lebens.
The octagonal forms
of the church remember the eighth
day of the week. The day of the
Resurrection, of the new creation,
and Sunday with no ending, eternal
life.
Die Leuchter
mit der Zahl acht erinnern an die
acht Seligpreisungen Jesu. Sie sind
das neue Gesetz des Lebens des
Christen.
The eight hanging
chandeliers represents the eight
Beatitudes of Jesus. They are the new
laws of Christ’s life.
L’ambone e l’altare
Sono il centro focale della chiesa
intorno al quale tutto converge e dal
quale tutto s’irradia.
stesso altare, vittima e sacerdote,
altare-corpo del Signore. Ecco perchè
il sacerdote si china per baciarlo
prima di iniziare la Santa Messa.
Un’immagine di straordinaria potenza
accentua la realtà che avviene del
14
Cristo che ancora oggi unisce cielo e
terra: la Croce. Otticamente sorge
sull’altare e tutta la costruzione converge
su di lei. La Croce è il punto di
riferimeno stabile del cristiano. Paolo
diceva: “ Non vi predico altro se non
Cristo ed il Cristo Crocifisso...”.
È la manifestazione ultima dell’amore.
Der Ambo und der Altar
Die Kirche ist der Ort der
Offenbarung Gottes in seinem Wort
(Ambo) und seinem Lebensbrot
(Altar). Christus ist die Mitte der
Gemeinde - vom Altar versinnbildet.
The ambo and the alter
The church is the locality of Gods
presence and his Word (Ambo) and
his Breath (Alter) Christ is the heart
of the Community symbolized by the
alter.
Le piccole cappelle
Le piccole cappelle laterali esplicano
e completano la centralità del presbiterio
e della navata. Il mistero
pasquale viene vissuto attraverso i
Sacramenti (cappella del battesimo e
della penitenza) ed è concretizzato
nella vita dei santi, cfr. cappella
di San Roberto Bellarmino e della
Cunfrunta con le belle statue in legno
scolpite dai laboratori d’arte, sculture
in legno di Ferdinando Perathoner
(San Roberto e la Madonna) e di
Vincenzo Demetz (Il Risorto), Ortisei.
Accanto all’abside si apre al visitatore
la cappella del Santissimo, luogo di
preghiera e di adorazione, che offre
anche la possibilità di celebrare la
S. Messa in piccoli gruppi. Il tabernacolo,
nella classica forma cubica, ci
richiama la verità che Cristo è la
pietra angolare, la base su cui tutto
si costruisce. “Quindi tutte le volte
che voi mangiate di questo pane...
annunziate la morte del Signore
finché Egli venga” (ICor. 11,26). La
corona di spine sul frontale del tabernacolo
ci ricorda che Egli ha dato la
vita per noi. Le due “ali” accanto al
tabernacolo ci aiutano a meditare
sulla realtà del Cristo, Figlio di Dio
(triangolo,) Messia (la stella di
Davide), Salvatore (chiro). La lampada
del santissimo invece, segno della
presenza di Dio, ricorda il motivo
biblico del roveto ardente dell’Horeb.
Die Seitenkapellen
helfen die Zentralität des österlichen
Geheimnisses in der Hl. Messe zu
betonen. Durch die Sakramente
nimmt der Christ an diesem Geheimnis
teil (Tauf-, Vergebungskapelle). Die
Heiligen verwirklichen in ihrem
Leben die Erloesungstat Christi. Siehe
the Easter mysteries of the holy Mass.
Il campanile
È diventato punto di orientamento di
Davoli Marina con i suoi 25 metri di
altezza. Orientarsi significa trovare
una via, che ci porta avanti, alla
meta, a casa.
geworden. Er zeigt uns wohin der
Weg des Lebens geht: in den Himmel.
The church bell
is high twenty five metres and has
become a sign of recognition. This
shows where the pathway of life
goes: in heaven.
a celebrare come comunità cristiana
l’Eucaristia, in cui noi annunciamo la
Sua Morte e Resurrezione.
La più piccola pesa cento chili (un
fa naturale) e porta il nome di
S. Nicolao della Flüe o campana
della pace (vedi foto). C’è scolpita
l’effige del santo nazionale svizzero e
le sue celebri parole “Friede ist allweg
nur in Gott” (La pace è solamente in
Dio) ed inoltre le parole del vangelo
“Et in terra pax hominibus”.
La mediana pesa 170 chili (un re maggiore)
viene chiamata la campana del
Ringraziamento o di S. Antonio e
porta scolpita l’immagine del Santo
di Padova, lo stemma del donatore e
la parola del Salmo 103,1 “Benedici
il Signore anima mia e non dimenti-
17
18
care tanti suoi benefici” anche nel
“Tertio Millennio Adveniente”.
S. Roberto Bellarmino o campana
dell’operosità. C’è scolpita l’effige
di S. Roberto, un rilievo della nuova
chiesa, lo stemma della ditta Gatto
che l’ha donata in ricordo della
costruzione della chiesa e le parole:
“Così il Signore, tuo Dio, ti benedirà
in ogni opera, che le tue mani
intraprenderanno” (Dt. 14,29).
“Et in terra pax hominibus“.
Die Mittlere - die Glocke der
Dankbarkeit (170 Kg) - ist dem hl.
Antonius gewidmet. Sie lädt mit
ihrer D-Dur Stimme ein, Gott auch
im „Tertio millennio adveniente“ zu
loben.
Die dritte wiegt 350 Kg (g-moll) und
ist dem Hl. Roberto Bellarmino
gewidmet und wird die Glocke der
Wirksamkeit genannt: „Gott wird
alles segnen, was Deine Hände
unternehmen werden „ (Dt. 14,29).
The church bells
The church bells help us to understand
the time that has been
donated. The smallest bell weighs
one hundred kilos and with its clear
sound in F major carries the name
The bell of Peace. It is dedicated to
Saint Nicholas of Flue. It carries the
saints words: Peace is only found in
God and the latin words:”Et in terra
pax hominibus”.
The medium bell weighs one hundred
and seventy kilos and carries the
name of The Bell of Thanksgiving and
is dedicated to Saint Anthony.
With its sound in D major it invites
to praise God even so in “Tertio
millennio adveniente”.
The third bell weighs Three hundred
and fifty kilos (G minor) and is
dedicated to Saint Robert Bellarmino.
It is called the Bell of Laboriousness:
“God will bless you in everything you
do”. (Dt.14,29)
LE OPERE BRONZEE
DI SUSANA POLAC
(1915-1991)
Stavamo ultimando la chiesa
parrocchiale di Rüschlikon (Svizzera),
progettata e costruita dall’Architetto
Davi. Andavamo in cerca di un
artista, che desse con la sua arte
ispirata, un’armoniosa e significativa
interpretazione ai luoghi liturgici
della chiesa. Ci siamo imbattuti in
una artista credente e matura, che
aveva il dono di comunicare in forme
espressive concrete il messaggio
spirituale cristiano: Susana Polac.
Nata nel 1915 a Vienna è passata
durante la sua vita attraverso diverse
forme espressive dell’arte: dalla
danza a Vienna ed a Roma, dove
fondò una propria scuola in via
Margutta nel 1935, prima danzatrice
nel 1937 sui celebri palcoscenici di
Taormina, Vicenza e Firenze, alla
pittura ed alla grafica con cattedra di
insegnamento a Lima (Perù) dal 1945
al 1950, alla scultura in Madrid 1951,
primo premio internazionale alla
Biennale di La Habana (CUBA). La
straordinaria ricchezza delle sue molteplici
esperienze artistiche si riflette
anche nelle opere presenti nella
nostra chiesa.
Di religione ebraica conobbe prima e
poi si convertì al cristianesimo.A causa
della persecuzione degli ebrei per
opera del regime nazista, si rifugiò in
Sud-America.Al tenace temperamento
di stampo tedesco unì la vivacità, la
spontaneità di quello latino.
Mi restano impressi nella memoria i
suoi occhi penetranti e la sicurezza
nel prendere delle decisioni, frutto di
una ricca interiorità. Susana Polac
Ecco
che vi troviamo, per esempio, sulle
“ali” che adornano il tabernacolo,
elementi della religione giudaica e
19
20
cristiana ma anche richiami e simboli
delle grandi religioni orientali.
Veramente la concezione di un Cristo
“cosmico” che supera i confini del
confessionalismo cristiano. Ma un
elemento sembra spesso dominare
le sue sculture: la meditazione sul
dolore e sulla passione di Cristo.
Come non ringraziare Susana per il
dono della sua arte ed anche
Gerardo Martin Gallego, suo marito,
per avere regalato a Davoli Marina
queste preziosità: il Tabernacolo, il
Crocifisso, la Madonna, la Via Crucis.
Così accanto alla chiesa dei Gesuiti
“Il buon Pastore” ed al Collegio
Germanico ed Ungarico a Roma
anche Davoli Marina si annovera tra
le località in Italia che posseggono
opere di Susana Polac.
Supera il contesto di questo opuscolo
citare tutte le città dove sono presenti
opere di Susana. Ci limitiamo a
citare solo le nazioni: Italia, Spagna,
Francia, U.S.A, Germania, Austria,
Svizzera e poi diverse collezioni
private anche in Australia e Perù. Le
opere della nostra chiesa furono
create da Susana a La Adrada, una
frazione di Avila in Spagna, località
diventata famosa per la presenza
della mistica S. Teresa d’Avila.
Stroncata da un male inguaribile dal
letto dell’ospedale a Zurigo, Susana
terminava la sua ultima opera “la Via
Crucis” del Signore che si trova nella
chiesa di Waedenswil e che diventò
anche la propria Via Crucis. In questo
periodo doloroso confidò all’architetto
Davi di voler lasciare alcune sue
opere “per la Chiesa di Don Gregorio
a Davoli Marina”. Noi davolesi ti
diciamo: “Grazie, Susana!”.
Die Werke von Susana Polac
Susana in Wien 1915 geboren lebt
dann in Rom, Florenz, Lima, La
Habana (Cuba), Madrid. Sie stammt
aus einer jüdischen Familie. Sie
eint in sich die Gründlichkeit
des deutschen und das Feuer es
lateinischen Temperamentes. Unter
dem nazistischen Regime ist sie nach
Sud-America ausgewandert. Susana
blieb eine Gottsuchende während
des ganzen Lebens. Die Erfahrung
des Leidens und der Verfolgung ist in
allen ihren Werken eingeprägt.
Werke von Susana sind in Rom
(Germanicum und in der Kirche “Il
buon pastore“) aber auch in Spanien,
Frankreich, U.S.A, Deutschland,
Österreich, Schweiz (Rüschlikon,
Zürich, Waedenswil und in der Krypta
des berühmten Marienheiligtums
Einsiedeln). Wir danken Susana
Polac, die der Kirche Davoli M.
diese kostbaren Werke aus Bronze
geschenkt hat.
The works of Susana Polac
Susana comes from a Hebrew family
and converted to christianity. The
pain of the nazist perscuctions is
stamped in all her operas. We find
her works in Italy, Spain, France,
U.S.A., Germany, Austria, Swizterland.
Susana donated all her bronze
operas in the church of Davoli Marina.
Il Crocifisso...
Contemplando il suo Crocifisso al
centro dell’abside: tutta la sofferenza
del popolo ebraico sembra rispecchiarsi
nella spossatezza corporale e
nel volto del Sofferente, tutta la
tragedia della persecuzione nazista.
Il Tabernacolo
e la lampada
Il motivo della sofferenza che salva
il mondo lo troviamo anche nella
corona di spine che adorna il tabernacolo
e che sembra trasformarsi
nella corona regale del Vincitore sul
dolore e sulla morte, rimasto fra di
noi fino alla consumazione dei secoli
- come specifica il testo scolpito lateralmente
sullo stesso tabernacolo,
sacra a Salisburgo. Le due ali ci “spiegano”
la realtà del Cristo, Figlio di
Dio (il triangolo), Messia (la stella di
21
22
In seiner klassischen kubischen Form,
deutet er auf Christus, Eckstein auf
dem alles ruht. Er hat das Leben fuer
uns hingegeben (die Dornenkrone
auf der Frontseite). Die zwei “Flügel”
deuten uns die Wirklichkeit Christi:
Sohn Gottes (Dreieck), Messias
(Davidstern) Retter (das griechische
Chiro), der Kommende (“ecce venio“).
Und auf der anderen Seite den
Christus des Chosmos. Das Ewige
Licht übernimmt das Motiv des brennenden
Dornbusches auf dem Horeb:
Zeichen der Gegenwart Gottes.
The tabernacle
with a classic and cubic form indicates
Christ as the corner stone of which
everything is placed on. He has given
his life for us (The crown of thorns is
on the frontispiece).
And the two lateral angles of the
tabernacle show the passages in
Christ’s life: Son of God (Three
angles, Messiah (David’s Star),
Saviour (the greek word Chiro), he
who comes (ecce venio”). On the
other side of the aisle: the Cosmic
Christ. The eternal Lamp shows the
motive of the firing bush of Moses on
Mount Horeb: A sign of perpetual
presence of God.
La Madonna
con il Bambino
Piena di interiorità e di materna
dolcezza è la pace riflessiva che
emana dal volto della Madonna,
della madre che sembra porgere al
visitatore il suo irrequieto Figlio. Questi
amplesso divino.
conserva tutte queste cose, meditandole
nel suo cuore”.
Die Madonna mit Kind
Voll Innerlichkeit und mütterlichem
Frieden scheint die in sich vertieften
Madonna uns ihr unruhiges Kind übergeben
zu wollen. Und dieser öffnet
seine Arme in einer uns gewinnenden
Umarmung. Das Schoss der Mutter:
Urbild allen Lebens - hier hineingeboren
in die Ordnung der Gnade.
23
24
Our Lady with child
Our Lady is full of interiority and
maternal peace. It shows how she
wants to give her restless child to
us. And wants with us in a warm
embrace. The maternal womb is the
original sign of life.
La Via Crucis
Nelle Chiese dobbiamo nuovamente
sperimentare la dimensione dello spirito,
l’afflato interiore, l’elevazione
Da sinistra verso destra: il geom. Giuseppe Gioffré,
l’arch. Benito Davi, Don Gregorio Montillo, l’ing. Martucci,
il marito di Susana, Martin Gerardo Callego.
mistica che solo l’arte può significare.
Vedo un segno della Provvidenza nel
fatto che il giorno della dedicazione
della chiesa era presente in mezzo a
noi il marito della defunta Susana
Polac, anche lui ‘escultor’: Martin
Gerardo Callego.
Insieme all’architetto Davi cercavamo
di risolvere il problema della
Via Crucis adattando magari quella
esistente della Chiesa piccola. Dopo
diverse ipotesi e tante prove Gerardo
esclama: “No, è sbagliato, è peccato”
…L’architetto traduce: Gerardo ha
deciso di regalare alla comunità di
Davoli Marina la Via Crucis di
Susana, commissionata dai responsabili
parte scultorea.
Un grazie di cuore al benefattore
Martin Gerardo Callego per quest’opera
venuta a noi “veramente dal cielo”.
La Via Crucis inizia all’uscita della
sagrestia e termina con la 15° stazione
nella cappella del Santissimo,
dove realmente è presente il Cristo
Risorto. Alcune stazioni sono di
notevolissima espressività.
Der Kreuzweg/Via Crucis
Der Kreuzweg wurde von Susana
für die Kirche deutscher Sprache in
Madrid konzipiert und realisiert. Doch
es fehlten die nötigen Gelder. Susana
stirbt an Leukämie in Zürich und ihr
Mann Martin Gerardo Gallelo, der bei
der Einweihung der Kirche in Davoli
Marina eingeladen wurde, beschloss,
ihn unserer Kirche zu schenken, da
hier noch andere Werke von Susana
vorhanden waren. Einige Stationen
sind wirklich eindrucksvoll.
I Stazione: Gesù viene
condannato a morte
Bellissima la composizione che
sembra essere in totale contrasto con
il dramma che si sta svolgendo.
Quanto movimento nella folla: chi
grida, chi minaccia, chi alza le mani
violente e piene di odio. Al centro c’è
Gesù, in piedi, tranquillo, come
se tutto ciò non lo riguardasse,
25
26
maestoso come un re, Signore della
situazione. Pilato -dall’altra parte
dirci l’artista.
I. Station: Jesus wird zum Tode
verurteilt
Die Gruppe ist besonders eindrucksvoll:
der chaotischen Bewegung
der schreienden Volksmenge wird
die würdige Ruhe des Verurteilten
entgegengestellt. Er ist der Herr der
Lage. Pilatus: ein Mann, der nur an
der Suche seiner Interessen satt wird.
Genial die Darstellung des mit vollen
Bauch römischen Prokurators.
Ist Station: Jesus is condemned
to death
The group is captured: the noisy and
confusing surroundings of the crowd is
highlighted to the contrast of dignified
peace of the Condemned. And Pilate
satisfies his own interests. Brillantly is
the representation of the Pontus Pilot
with a big round stomach.
IV. Station: Jesus begegnet seiner
Mutter
Begegnung zweier liebenden, tiefblickenden
Menschen. Die Mutter mit
ergreifender Zärtlichkeit möchte den
Sohn aus seinem Kreuz befreien.
Schmerz und Fragen jeder Mutter, die
den eigenen Sohn sterben sieht.
4th Station: Jesus meets his
mother
It is the meeting of two people
who meet and who love each. The
mother’s tender care seems wants to
take the cross of her son. Pain and
sufferance of every mother who sees
her own child die.
VIII Stazione: Gesù incontra
le donne di Gerusalemme
Gesù è immerso nel destino del suo
popolo: generazioni di madri che
piangono i loro figli. Che destino
atroce si sta scagliando su di noi!
La potenza di Roma distrugge nel
70 Gerusalemme e così continua la
dispersione e la deportazione fino
alla decimazione nei forni crematori
di Auschwitz per le figlie di
Gerusalemme.
XI Stazione: Gesù viene
inchiodato sulla croce
Il corpo del Cristo richiama i
prigionieri affamati, ridotti a pelle ed
ossa dall’olocausto. Ed i carnefici
non hanno sembianze di uomini ma
quasi di scimmie, di animali ciechi e
terribilmente concentrati nel loro
27
28
operare. L’artista di origine ebraica
non ha mai cancellato dal suo cuore
l’inumano dolore dello sterminio.
“Non sanno quello che fanno!”.
XI. Station Jesus wird
ans Kreuz genagelt.
Christus versinnbildet alle verhungernden,
ausgemagerten Gefangenen
des Holokaustes. Die Peiniger haben
keine menschlichen, sondern tieri-
schen Haltungen. Susana hat hier die
Brutalität von Ausschwitz dargestellt.
11th station: Jesus is crucified
The Christ shows the prisoners who
hunger and who are all skin and
bones like in the holocaust. The
persecutors seem not to have
human resemblance but more
animal. Susana shows the brutality
of Auschwitz.
Le vetrate rotonde
Dopo lungo lavoro gli oblò in chiesa
risplendono di luce nei diversi colori
e motivi. È stato un lavoro paziente e
creativo dell’atelier della Comunità
Santa Maria di Rossano. Vogliono
rappresentare il ciclo della creazione,
che è la prima rivelazione di Dio.
della cantoria
L’apice della creazione però è l’uomo
che rispecchia nella sua danza di vita
in mezzo a tutti gli elementi della
creazione la comunione trinitaria di
Dio. “Non è bene che l’uomo sia
solo…” Nel generare la vita l’uomo
concretizza anche il suo essere
immagine Dio.
Bei dem Kantoreieingang
God created
man according to his Trinity image.
He is the centre of Creation and dances
in the communion of not being
alone.
Sulla cantoria
Dallo stesso lato sopra la cantoria
viene rappresentata la creazione
degli uccelli dell’aria e dei pesci
del mare. La fantasia di Dio non
può mai essere raggiunta da nessuna
tecnica. Tutto pullula di vita. “Lodate
mette tutto in movimento.
all’amore verso Dio ed i fratelli.
Vicino al fonte battesimale
conclude l’oblò che rappresenta il
quarto elemento del creato: l’acqua.
Nei colori tenui e forti, nel movimento
delle onde e negli orizzonti infiniti
tutto parla di bellezza di vita, di luce.
Senz’acqua non c’è vita… “E l’uomo
senza Dio è come un pesce fuori
d’acqua” (S. Agostino).
Beim Taufstein
Es herrscht das Wasser. In der
Bewegung der Wellen und in den
unendlichen Horizonten alles spricht
von der Schönheit des Lebens.
Das runde Glasfenster ist zwischen
dem Taufstein und der Statue der
Madonna platziert: Wie können wir
nicht an Maria, die Morgenröte des
Heils und die Stella Maris denken?
Place of Baptism:
beauty of life in the continual
moments and horizontal infinity. The
window is placed in the middle of the
baptistery and the statue of Our
Lady. How can you forget Mary, the
Aurora of Salvation and Stella Maris?
A me piacerebbe tanto continuare
