a new Association
called Associazione
Vivi Vejo will place
its roots in the
Northern Rome area, with its head-office
in the Olgiata complex.
This new organization, as its name implies,
aims to bring life to the Vejo Park area, our
area here in Northern Rome. The Welcome
Neighbor organization which has been
around for all expats in Rome since 1984
but which has no official status, will be enclosed
in vivi Vejo with the organization of
the International Community Fair.
This year, ICF 2009 will take place on Saturday
September 12 th from 11 am to 5 pm
at the American Overseas School of Rome
where it was first started.
Since 2007 ICF has been totally organized
for charity supporting the children from
Kim (www.associazionekim.it).

“Punto Verde qualità“
(Green Quality
Point) has finally reached a concrete and
almost finalized look.
After obtaining concession from the City of
Rome Administration, a group of business
men have set off to redesign the surrounding
area of the Olgiata residential complex
as one of the most up to date, fully
equipped and serviced areas in Europe,
certainly worthy of modern standards.

THE NEW ASSOCIATION, VIVI VEJO ONLUS, IS BORN

Many sponsors have grouped together to
help make this day a more special one,
from Dr Picchioni’s pharmacy in Olgiata,
always present and sensitive to the local
needs; Peroni Nastro Azzurro, who will
supply a large stand with beer which will
be sold for charity and the Peroni girls who
will enhance the atmosphere with their
lovely smiles, Italiakids with their children’s
activities, Driver in Italy who, when its owner
and Manager Roberto Melarangio heard
about the Fair, decided to visit the children
from Kim and immediately offered to sponsor
the event; Radio l’Olgiata who will start
broadcasting the event from September
1 st and Video Martin who will be supplying
free animation, activities and two large
bouncy castles for children.
The aim of Vivi Vejo is to bring life to an area
of Rome where residents still find it necessary
to drive to the Centre of Rome to find
some movement, to see people and activities.
Vivi Vejo wants to cover the areas of
much needed attention, like young people,

Soglian Elementary School will be a most
modern, fully equipped and solar heated
and powered facility, with three swimming
pools, SPAs, gyms, tennis and soccer
fields, bicycle paths in the wooded areas
and jogging, with a bar, a restaurant, physical
therapy and you name it. This Club will
be open in June 2010 and in 2011 the entire
area outside the Olgiata Complex will
see a drastic improvement, with the cleaning
up of the park, with camera surveillance
and guards, as well as the completion
of the new road which will access Via
Tieri directly from Via Conti, just outside
the Olgiata South gate.
By October 2009 the new shopping Centre
with at least 20 more shops will be open-

and presentations will be held to involve all
residents and the kids themselves will be
the authors of its magazine.
The shops in the Vejo area will come to
life and the normally closed on Sunday
shopping centres will come to life with fun
events for the whole family, fashion shows,
music, games, book presentations and
many more.
One of the many projects of Vivi Vejo is to
open a new section of the Blind and Low
Vision Association in the Northern Rome
area, in order to enable visually impaired
people to take computer and Braille
courses as well as to train in other useful
fields and to have access to transportation
and accompanying volunteers.

shopping and a new wider entrance to
the Centre.
Fabrizio Greco, partner and Manager of
the Sporting Club, has even agreed to letting
the G. Soglian students use the Sporting
Club facilities, with the exception of the
swimming pools which would entail more
restrictive measures.
Greco’s dedication and experience in the
sports business has earned him a European
prize for his open mindedness and
involvement of disabled people in sports.
He’s expressed full availability in working
with Vivi Vejo Onlus and to find suitable
premises for its headquarters.
