Monopolio esprime vocazione al contatto - con <strong>la</strong><br />
materia, con gli oggetti, con <strong>la</strong> paro<strong>la</strong>, con le parole,<br />
con i corpi, con <strong>il</strong> mondo dentro e fuori <strong>la</strong> scena<br />
teatrale, con i luoghi - e procede attraverso pratiche<br />
d’interconnessione fra fiaba e tragedia, fra gioco,<br />
riflessione, eventi creativi e esperienze di resistenza,<br />
fra centro e periferie.<br />
Nelle prossime pagine sono presentati quattro<br />
interventi scritti per <strong>la</strong> rivista dagli ospiti di Duale,<br />
che raccolgono <strong>la</strong> testimonianza degli incontri e<br />
degli spettacoli di Monopolio. Studiosi, artisti e intellettuali<br />
che ci hanno donato riflessioni dense e<br />
preziose su queste quattro vite di un’altra fibra.<br />

<strong>DOM</strong>’s second year of activities opened with the “Monopolio –<br />
quattro vite di un’altra fibra (four lives like no other)” festival,<br />
which reunited four performances, Bobby Fischer. Il Re Indifeso,<br />
Un senso nuovo. Three letters by Simone We<strong>il</strong>, Jackson Pollock on<br />
the other hand and Esagera. Taken from Kolyma Tales by Var<strong>la</strong>m<br />
Ša<strong>la</strong>mov. Those shows are the results of the <strong>la</strong>st years’ work<br />
and were composed in a unique proposal for a dramatic reading<br />
of the contemporary. Three lectures titled Duale accompanied<br />
the performances. They brought together several guests whose<br />
practices somehow follow those of the reference figures for<br />
each show. The aim for those meetings was to weave in a<br />
conversation some significative practical experiences with<br />
thoughts and ideas.<br />
In the next pages we present four written contributions by<br />
our guests at Duale, collecting some evidence of the lectures<br />
and the shows at Monopolio. Scho<strong>la</strong>rs, artists and intellectuals<br />
left us as gifts precious and dense thoughts on these four “lives<br />
like no other”.<br />
