tance from the northern part of the agora is really wide and there is,
in practice, no possibility of a future connection of the two sections,
due to aesthetical reasons, it was proposed to position the columns
in a symmetric way considering the longitudinal axis of the street.
The columns were recomposed placing the drums inside the ideal
frustum of the cone generated by the basis circumference - measuring
about 78 cm, basing on the traces found out on the stylobate fragments
- and the dimensions of the collarino of the preserved capital
(63.5 cm). The height of the whole column is 19 Attic feet (about
5.62 metres). The measure on-centre obtained from the remains of
the colonnade is referable to 9 feet (about 2.66 metres).
In the first northern column the only original fragments are the capital
and a column drum, in the second one two drums, the third one
is exclusively defined by the lower drum, A-D8, with the corresponding
integration.
As to the entablature, it was decided to reintegrate the only architrave
fragment found out, the A-D59 one, broken in the middle, to
complete the frieze, fragment A-D46, and to reintegrate the cornice
fragment A-D57, the best preserved one among the found out fragments.
In addiction, due to stability reasons, it was decided to add a block,
having an antithema function, close to the frieze, the height and
length of which are equal to those of the frieze while its width is
obtained from the architrave’s after the positioning of the same frieze.
