immediately and on incisive way. The panels of traditional<br />
structure go along multimedia exhibition panels, containing videos<br />
equipment, offering movies that can clearly illustrate the history and<br />
location of archaeological features contained in the various rooms<br />
of the museum. The configuration of these panels is proposed as<br />
a discreet presence even in its current forms and materials used.<br />
The directional panels classify and indicate the routes, taking shape<br />
as elements of a system of museum’s organization, that even in its<br />
newness integrates the ancient site and its historical characteristics,<br />
presenting itself in the form and materials as discreet and yet very<br />
distinctive element.<br />
The materials and the lighting system<br />
The innovative materials used informs the whole arrangement: the<br />
corten steel, characterized by its red coating generated by the exposure<br />
to the atmospheric agents, the burnished steel on his dark<br />
gray color and on its material substance, the polycarbonate taken<br />
in the transparency and the lightness of the parapet and of information<br />
panels, the glass and steel of the doors and windows. These<br />
materials are also present in the furniture as well as in the definition<br />
of the architectural structure of certain environments, such for<br />
example the services and the wardrobe. These areas, defined by the<br />
weight and the materiality of burnished steel that is well suited to<br />
the site, talking to the walls and the vaults of the tabernae acquire a<br />
clear identity that creates a context of strong and evocative power<br />
and of clear innovation. The railings of the large hall, overlooking<br />
the atrium below the first level, also on steel draw an elegant and<br />
discreet structure.<br />
Planks of wood on a natural and lived aspect join in the platforms,<br />
to railings on steel holded up by beams and support equipment<br />
that does not disturb the soil and the pavement. The lighting systems,<br />
compound on the inside from light structures of spotlights attached<br />
to the ceiling or of lamps placed in an elegant steel structure,<br />
are composed on the outside of elements inserted in the floor or in<br />
the walls. These devices create a bright and pleasant night course,<br />
which enhances and brings back the memories and the reminiscence<br />
of an old place, full of suggestions. The ancient materials<br />
that compos the halls of the museum consist of courses of bricks,<br />
vaults in latericium opus, opus caementicium and travertine, the floor-<br />
