Martirià figUeres<br />

Martirià Figueres is an Agricultural Engineer and higher graduate in Landscape Architecture.<br />

He is a founder partner and manager of ASPECTE PAISATGE s.l.u.<br />

and an urbanism, environment and landscape adviser of several town councils. In 1994<br />

he received a FAD award for the work of Restoration of Croscat Volcano (Nature Reserve<br />

of Volcanic Area of la Garrotxa) and another in 2000 in the exterior spaces category<br />

for the work Arrangement of an Itinerary in Salt d’Espolla (Martís de Dalt - Esponellà). In<br />

the field of the adaptation of archaeological spaces, his works at the Castellum of Sant<br />

Julià de Ramis, the Roman villas of els Ametllers (Tossa de Mar) and Pla de Palol<br />

(Castell-Platja d’Aro), the Iberian settlement of Sant Sebastià de la Guarda (Palafrugell),<br />

the Hellenistic neighbourhood of the Citadel of Roses or the wine press of Roman<br />

age of Llafranc (Palafrugell) highlight, as well as, in other fields, that singular works,<br />

specially related to the use of urban parks and gardens, in the composition of sculptures<br />

designed to be placed in public spaces and, finally, in the projects of ephemeral nature<br />

for isolated events.<br />

Graduate in History. University of Girona (1998) Diploma of Advanced Studies.<br />

University of Girona (2001) Master in the Management of Cultural Heritage. University<br />

of Girona (2007). In the field of cultural heritage he is project manager and head of<br />

the Studies and Analysis of ICRPC. He is a member of the research group “heritage<br />

and cultural uses”. As part of his research career he has published several articles and<br />

presented papers at conferences, seminars and conferences at national and international<br />

level. His research focuses on the uses of cultural heritage. He focuse his research in the<br />

reenactment events, gastronomy and crafts exhibitions focusing on the implications<br />

of economic, social and tourism. Coordinates projects around the cultural heritage at<br />

ICRPC. In the field of archeology specializes in Iberian culture. It is co-director of<br />

excavations at the Iberian settlement of Sant Sebastià de la Guarda (Palafrugell, Baix<br />

Empordà) since 1999 and has directed several excavations. He is a member of the group<br />

“Archaeology and Prehistory” at the UdG. HisPhD is based on the Iberian settlement<br />

of Sant Sebastià de la Guarda (Palafrugell, Baix Empordà). Associated professor of<br />

“Protohistory of the Iberian Peninsula” at the University of Girona.<br />

Jordi vivo<br />

Jordi Vivo is a graduate in History and professor of the Archaeology area of the University<br />

of Girona (UdG). As a researcher, he has focused on the study of the Romanization<br />

process of the Iberian Peninsula, especially the north-eastern area occupied by<br />

the Iberian populus of the Indigetes; actually this is the subject of the PhD thesis that he<br />

is putting the finishing. He is a member of the research group of Archaeology of the<br />

UdG and is participating in several research projects, some of them funded by public<br />

institutions like town councils of the area of Girona, the Diputació de Girona, the<br />

Generalitat de Catalunya or the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación. Also he has<br />

been director or co-director of some archaeological interventions in the Iberian settlements<br />

of Sant Sebastià de la Guarda (Palafrugell) and Sant Feliu de Guíxols and the<br />

Benedictine monastery also located in the latter town. Finally, he is author, co-author<br />

and co-editor of some publications derived from the researches of the excavations and<br />

those of the research group. The last one is a collective work by all the members of the<br />

group entitled De l’oppidum a la ciuitas. La romanització inicial de la Indigècia (2010).<br />
