Abstract
The “case studies” of Susa and Ivrea represent both an interesting
opportunity of advancement because of the wide choice of architectural
features presents in these archaeological sites and of the variety
of situations they allow you to deepen. Indeed both of them are
concrete projects, the local administrations of the involved towns
entrusted the architectural firm A&A - Architetti & Associati -
of which the writer herself is a partner - with the task to develop
a preliminary project; the purpose is to effectively realize it in the
future and to carry on this aim through regular verifications and a
supervising operation of the work both in the planning phase and
in the implementation one.
The two projects are as well highly significant for the aspects concerning
the process of preparation of the Scientific and Museological
Survey, which support the project itself, the main importance of this
issue arose a lively debate during the last Convention.
Related to the case of Susa, the creation of a Committee - technical/
scientific round table of Aim, led to a preliminary planning of the
museum design and of the exhibition itself shared from the interested
personalities.
Both the case studies analized in this beginning phase of the research
have been explained during the International Convention - “The
enhancement and the exhibition of the Archaeological Park of the
“Rocca” and the Museum in the Castle of the Countess Adelaide
in Susa” and “The enhancement and the exhibition of the archaeological
sites of the former hotel La Serra in Ivrea”. The cases are
part of a complex of measures aimed to improve the value, and to
network at the regional level, the whole, rich and varied archaeological
heritage both of Susa and the Valle di Susa and of Ivrea and
its territory. Within the Feasibility Project “Archaeology in Ivrea:
perspectives for the enhancement of the archaeological heritage”, the
Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage and MAE of Piemonte,
emphasized that: “As nowadays it is widely experienced, it
is necessary the process of recovery and enhancement of the archaeological
goods is part of an overall coherent plan, which should set
objectives supported by a comprehensive design and a management
organization able to ensure the safety of the system over time and to
promote the progressive implementation itself. Only in these terms
the cultural implications and the proper tourist development will
consolidate themselves adding valuable resources to the city.”
