gist’s pursuing for, the museum or relic site would be understood
in different ways by different visitors. There is no evidence that sites
are uniformly read and passively accepted by visitors (Macdonald,
1996). The musealization of Daming Palace provides the framework
for people remembering both the past and present.
In the meantime, the musealization of Daming Palace should also
consider the future archaeologist activities. As mentioned before, the
heritage covers huge area, and is in a whole system. The sustainability
of the archaeology research is crucial for the design strategy.
The covering of the original pieces of basement of the architecture is
a feasible solution for the protection of the heritage, and a guarantee
of the continuity of research investment. On the other side, confronting
such scale heritage in the city center, the urbanist are obliged to
redefine the territory planning. How to solve the local community’s
the territory planning covers much larger areas than the site was,
and stresses the redevelopment of the whole area, in order to cast away
negative impression people had on this area. The redevelopment is
including the residential zone, commercial zone, and green planning,
etc. Those are also a pleasant progress for the local community.
framework the museologist provided. The previous slum became a
central park, and an open-air museum to contributing for the sprite
of the society.
The open-air Daming Palace museum was open to public at the
end of 2010, and the musealization of Daming Palace is still under
process, and being improved on this magnificent land. People are
still searching for the balance among the preservation, exhibition,
and researching. Letting the society remember the past is not simply
conveyed through the performances of heritage, it’s related to the time
mechanism referring to the culture. To make the people to realize
the historical human being’s culture through materialized objects
within the present context is the efficient way of individual recognition.
Although most of the heritage in this case already vanished (the
architecture, garden, lifestyle etc.), their “souls” were manifested and
communicated in a timeless, renewable materiality, such as installations,
sculptures (Schärer, 2008). The attempt of the musealization
