La festa della Madonna Addolorata a Belluno
Antica tradizione popolare e spiritualità religiosa si intrecciano a Belluno domenica
25 marzo, quando la città diviene teatro della Festa della madonna Addolorata. La
devozione per l’Addolorata, o madonna dei Sette Dolori, fu introdotta da parte dei
Serviti in occasione della costruzione della chiesa di Santo Stefano nel 1468, ma
fu solo nel 1716 che ebbe inizio la solenne processione che ancora oggi costituisce
il fulcro della festività religiosa. Dalla chiesa di Santo Stefano, la statua della
madonna è portata per le vie del centro fino alla Basilica minore di San martino,
patrono della città, in un clima di festa gioiosa rallegrata dal suono dei numerosi
fischietti che danno il nome alla popolare Sagra dei Fis’ciot. Bancarelle di giocattoli,
dolciumi e prodotti tipici locali colorano così, per un intero pomeriggio, le vie del
centro, in un’atmosfera sospesa tra la realtà e la fantasia.

The feast of the Madonna Addolorata in Belluno
Ancient popular tradition and religious spirituality come together in Belluno on Sunday, the 25th of March, when the city plays host to the Feast of the
madonna Addolorata. The devotion to the Addolorata, or the madonna dei Sette Dolori, was introduced by the Servites on the occasion of the building
of the church of Santo Stefano in 1468, but the solemn procession, which is still the central point of the religious feast to this day, did not begin until
1716. From the church of Santo Stefano, the statue of the madonna is carried through the streets of the city to the minor Basilica of San martino, the
patron saint of the city. The joyful atmosphere is cheered by the merry sound of numerous whistles; the locals, in fact, refer to the popular celebration
which accompanies the religious feast as the Sagra dei Fis’ciot (whistle festival). For a whole afternoon, there is a fantastic atmosphere in the city, as the
streets come alive with colourful stalls selling toys, confectionery and typical local products.

SAGRA DEL FANCIULLO a Prompicai di Agordo
Con l’avvicinarsi delle festività pasquali grandi e piccini iniziano a pregustare il piacere della tradizionale gita di pasquetta:
con gli amici o con i parenti, il Lunedì dell’Angelo diviene l’occasione per trascorrere una bella giornata in spensieratezza,
all’insegna dell’immancabile pic-nic all’aria aperta. ma a prompicai di Agordo la pasquetta porta con sé anche una delle
feste popolari e religiose più sentite dalla Comunità Agordina, la Sagra del Fanciullo. Nel piccolo oratorio dedicato a San
vincenzo Ferrer, protettore dei fanciulli cui sono dedicati i preziosi ex-voto ed il dipinto d’altare custoditi nella Chiesa
risalente al 1659, le mamme portano da sempre i propri bambini a ricevere la benedizione.
Nel corso degli anni la tradizione religiosa è stata affiancata da una vera e propria festa popolare: le bancarelle del
mercato rallegrano le vie del paese, giochi tradizionali si svolgono sulla “Lobia” di parech. Lungo il torrente Campregana,
tra le ruote dei vecchi mulini e le raffigurazioni dei mestieri di un tempo, è inoltre allestito un percorso di riscoperta delle
antiche tradizioni della montagna. Non mancano le proposte eno-gastronomiche: presso gli attrezzati stand gastronomici
al “mulin de la pipi” è possibile gustare le specialità agordine, al suono degli strumenti dell’orchestra da ballo. Al termine
della serata, lotteria e premi per tutti.

SAGRA DEL FANCIU LO (festival of the child) in Prompicai di Agordo
As easter approaches, both young and old look forward to the traditional
easter monday outing: with family or with friends, Easter Monday is an
opportunity to leave your worries behind and spend a pleasant day in the
open air having a picnic. in prompicai di Agordo, however, there is more to
easter monday than that; on this day, one of the most heartfelt popular
and religious festivals in the Agordo Community takes place: the Sagra del
Fanciullo. From time immemorial, mothers have taken their children to be
blessed in the little oratory dedicated to San vincenzo Ferrer, protector of
children and the object of the precious ex-voto and altar painting kept in
the Church, which dates back to 1659.

ted by a truly popular festival: market stalls are set up in the streets of
the village and traditional games are played in the little hamlet of parech.
Alongside the Campregana torrent, amongst the wheels of the old mills
and the demonstrations of how traditional trades used to be carried out, a
special route has been set up to help visitors re-discover age-old mountain
traditions. Food and wine fans will not be disappointed either: at “mulin de
la pipi”, a number of gastronomic stands offer the opportunity to sample
local Agordo specialities, to the sound of the dance orchestra. At the end
of the evening a lottery will be held, with prizes for all.
LA MENESTrA de San Dordi
Domenica 29 aprile, tradizionale appuntamento religioso e folkloristico a Sorriva di Sovramonte:
ogni anno, nella prima domenica successiva al 23 aprile è distribuita la menestra de San Dordi
per tener fede ad un voto perpetuo espresso dagli abitanti nel 1631 quando, a causa di una
grave epidemia di peste, promisero a San Giorgio che ogni anno avrebbero raccolto a turno
la fava (al tempo largamente coltivata e che verrà via via sostituita dai fagioli nostrani) ed il
burro necessari per la minestra che, una volta fatta benedire, si sarebbero impegnati ad offrire
ai poveri del paese. il programma attuale prevede la celebrazione della Santa messa, cui fanno
seguito la processione e la benedizione della pietanza; quindi i coscritti del luogo, in costume
tradizionale, la distribuiscono per le vie del paese, accompagnandola con del pane guarnito da
una croce dipinta con il rosso d’uovo, appositamente cotto per la circostanza.

Dolomiti in festa
il 19 e 20 maggio 2007 le
strade e le piazze della città
di Belluno faranno da sfondo
alla manifestazione “Dolomitinfesta:
Gusto, Sapienza,
arte, tradizione tra passato
e futuro”, una festa alla
scoperta del distretto rurale
delle Dolomiti bellunesi. La

manifestazione sarà un’occasione
per riproporre al pubblico le metodologie di produzione del legno,
della lana e del latte, con l’aiuto di tecnici di settore che eseguiranno dal
vivo tutte le fasi della filiera fino ad ottenere il prodotto finito. il pubblico
sarà poi guidato per le vie cittadine alla scoperta, tra una degustazione
e l’altra, degli antichi sapori della cucina bellunese, in una cornice di
spettacoli di danza, canto e poesia eseguiti da artisti delle nostre vallate.
Gli stand dimostrativi, i tendoni per la degustazione, i banchi di vendita
diretta saranno dislocati tra il parco Città di Bologna, piazza Duomo e
piazza martiri, dove si svolgerà la ii edizione della festa del gelato con
dimostrazioni ed assaggi. A supporto sarà allestito, presso la stazione
ferroviaria, un punto informativo per accogliere i visitatori che giungeranno
a Belluno con il Trenoverde messo a disposizione da Trenitalia.

On sunday 29th April a traditional religious and folklore event takes place in Sorriva di
Sovramonte. every year, on the first Sunday after the 23rd of April, the local people give out
the menestra de San Dordi, in order to honour a perpetual vow made by their forefathers in
1631: as a result of a serious outbreak of plague, they made a promise to St. George (San
Dordi) that each year, the local families would take it in turns to harvest the broad beans
(widely grown at the time; they have gradually been replaced by French beans) and make
the butter necessary for making the soup which would then be blessed and given to the poor folk of the village.
These days the event consists of a mass, followed by a procession and the ceremony in which the beans are blessed; then the local people, in
traditional dress, go through the village streets giving out the soup together with rolls of bread with a cross drawn upon them with egg yolk,
specially baked for the occasion.

On the 19th and 20th of May 2007,
the streets and squares of the
city of Belluno will be the backdrop
to “Dolomitinfesta: Taste, Wisdom,
Art and Tradition from the past
through to the future”, a festival
created to uncover the delights
of the rural areas in the Belluno
Dolomites. During the event,
visitors will have the opportunity
to watch how wood, wool and milk
products are made, with experts
offering live demonstrations of all
the various production phases, from the raw materials to the finished
products made with them. The public will then be guided through the
streets of the city to sample the traditional age-old flavours of local
Belluno cooking, accompanied by dance, song and poetry performed by
artists from the surrounding valleys. The demonstration stands, the
marquees for the food tasting and the stalls selling food produce will
be set up around the Città di Bologna park, piazza Duomo and piazza
dei martiri, which will also play host to the 2nd edition of the ice-cream
festival, with demonstrations and the chance to sample the ice-cream.
At the railway station, an information point will be set up to welcome
visitors arriving in Belluno with the “Green Train” laid on by Trenitalia.
