ITINERARI per bikers
IN MOTO ATTrAVErSO la Val Sesis
A Sappada, l’itinerario motociclistico per eccellenza
sale dalla Borgata Cima alle Sorgenti del Piave. La
salita prevede un dislivello di 500 metri in circa 8
km; gli appassionati delle due ruote possono così
cimentarsi e divertirsi lungo i tortuosi tornanti che
salgono attraverso la val Sesis. punto intermedio
che consente di ammirare il panorama circostante
e un primo scorcio del monte peralba è “pian
delle Bombarde”, il cui toponimo si rifà al periodo
bellico. il punto di arrivo è la polla da cui sgorgano
le acque del piave, fiume Sacro alla patria. A lato,
un cippo sulla cui sommità compare un elmo,
a ricordo delle cruente battaglie combattute
nella zona durante la Grande Guerra. Sulle creste
circostanti, numerose sono le testimonianze del
periodo bellico: forti e fortini, caverne nella roccia
e piccoli residui bellici. La zona è inoltre un punto
di partenza per passeggiate nel verde tra prati
e pascoli oppure splendide escursioni al peralba,
Chiadenis, Avanza e Lastroni.
MOTOrbIkING ACrOSS the Val Sesis
in Sappada, the motorbike itinerary par excellence
is the one which goes up from Borgata Cima to
the springs of the Piave river. The route climbs up
for 500 metres in about 8km, so motorcycling
enthusiasts can take up the exciting challenge
presented by the numerous hairpin bends which
climb up through the val Sesis. About halfway
along the route you can stop to admire the
surrounding landscape and get a first glimpse
of monte peralba at “pian delle Bombarde”, the
name of which recalls wartime battles. The route

Un percorso che ci regala scenari da sogno, immagini che non dimenticheremo e che
conserveremo in un cassetto proprio come una fotografia. Scenari oltre i confini attraversando
veneto, Trentino ed Alto Adige con una serie infinita di tornanti che, toccati
gli oltre 2.000 metri, ci appaga dei tanti chilometri percorsi in sella alla nostra moto.
Un viaggio lungo i più bei passi Dolomitici: Fedaia (2057 m.), Pordoi (2239 m.), Sella
(2220 m.), Gardena (2121 m.) e Campolongo (1875 m.), con paesi e villaggi tutti da
scoprire. Sono numerose inoltre le strutture alberghiere attrezzate per l’accoglienza
dei motociclisti: a disposizione degli ospiti comodi garage per le moto, appositi spazi
predisposti per asciugare le tute in caso di pioggia ed in alcuni casi interessanti sconti
riservati ai turisti delle due ruote.

water springs. At the side of the pool, there
is a boundary stone with a helmet on the top,
a reminder of the bloody battles fought in the
area during the Great War. On the surrounding
ridges, numerous traces of the war years are to
be found: forts, blockhouses, caves in the rocks
and other wartime relics. The area is also an ideal
departure point for walks through grassland
and pastureland, and splendid hikes to peralba,
Chiadenis, Avanza and Lastroni.

The spectacular, magic landscapes along this route will remain forever
engrained in your memory, cherished like a favourite photograph;
landscapes spanning the veneto, Trentino and Alto Adige regions,
around a never-ending series of hairpin bends which reach an altitude
of over 2,000 metres; landscapes which provide ample reward for the
long, tiring kilometres astride your motorbike. This trip goes through
the most beautiful passes in the Dolomites: Fedaia (2,057 m.), Pordoi
(2,239 m.), Sella (2,220 m.), Gardena (2,121 m.) and Campolongo
(1,875 m.), with wonderful villages and hamlets to discover along the
way. A large number of hotels on the route offer facilities for motorcyclists,
such as spacious garages for bikes, areas to dry out biking
gear in rainy weather, and in some cases discounts for bikers.

A SPASSO CON LA MOTO SULLE DOLOMITI
attraverso i luoghi storici più belli
Un tuffo nella storia, senza mai dover scendere dalla moto: ecco due itinerari
che si snodano lungo i passi di pordoi, Falzarego, valparola, Tre Croci e Giau,
dedicati a tutti gli appassionati delle due ruote. A soddisfare le esigenze
dei bikers più esigenti ci penseranno le numerose infrastrutture e strutture
turistiche presenti lungo tutto il percorso – dagli ampi parcheggi gratuiti agli
uffici di informazione, dai servizi igienici ai ristoranti, bar, rifugi, dalle terrazze
panoramiche agli alberghi accoglienti ed ai moderni impianti di risalita.
PASSO PORDOI - ANDRAZ - PASSO FALZAREGO - PASSO VALPAROLA
Si parte in bellezza: appuntamento al passo pordoi, al cospetto della marmolada
e del gruppo del Sella. Tra curve mozzafiato e panorami entusiasmanti si
attraversano le valli ladine di Arabba e Pieve di Livinallongo e si prosegue lungo
la Strada delle Dolomiti (SS 48) in direzione di passo Falzarego. Ben presto si
raggiunge il Castello di Andraz, l’affascinante roccaforte costruita in difesa delle
vicine e antichissime miniere di ferro. proseguendo tra curve sinuose si raggiunge
passo Falzarego. Qui trova sede il più vasto museo all’aperto della prima
Guerra mondiale combattuta ad alta quota, composto dai musei del Lagazuoi,
A trip down through local history, and all of it without ever having to get
off your motorbike: below you will find two itineraries which wend their way
through the pordoi, Falzarego, valparola, Trecroci and Giau passes, especially
designed for motorcycling enthusiasts. even the most difficult to please will be
impressed by the numerous facilities for tourists along the route – from large
free parking areas to information offices, from toilets to restaurants, bars and
refuges, from panoramic terraces to welcoming hotels and modern ski lifts.
Pordoi Pass –Andraz – Falzarego Pass – Valparola Pass
This itinerary gets off to a spectacular start: the departure point is the pordoi
pass, with splendid views of the marmolada and the Sella mountain group.
Awe-inspiring bends and exhilarating views accompany you through the Ladin
valleys of Arabba and Pieve di Livinallongo, and the route then continues along
the Strada delle Dolomiti (SS 48) trunk road towards the Falzarego pass. Soon
afterwards you come to Andraz Castle, the splendid fortress built to defend the
ancient iron mines situated nearby. A further series of winding bends lead to
the Falzarego pass. Here you can visit the largest open-air, high altitude Great
War museum, which is composed of the museums of Lagazuoi, Sasso di Stria and
5 Torri, easily reachable by ski lift. Just five minutes away lies the valparola
pass, a truly magical place. The lunar landscape, which is often used as a
backdrop for motorbike and car advertisements, takes the visitor by surprise.

soli cinque minuti si trova passo valparola: è un luogo magico. il suo paesaggio
lunare, che spesso diviene cornice e sfondo di spot pubblicitari di auto e moto,
coglie il visitatore di sorpresa. La sosta prosegue presso il laghetto vicino, incastonato
nel verde brillante dei prati, mentre a pochi passi si staglia il Forte Tre
Sassi, gioiello di fortificazione difensiva austro-ungarico, oggi bellissimo museo.
PASSO PORDOI - ANDRAZ - COLLE SANTA LUCIA - PASSO GIAU - CORTINA D’AMPEZZO
- CADORE
Dopo Andraz si prosegue verso Colle Santa Lucia (SS 203), balcone panoramico
sulle leggendarie montagne del Civetta, del pelmo e della marmolada. Una breve
sosta per ammirare la piazzetta con il seicentesco Palazzo Chizzali – Bonfadin,
antica sede delle miniere del Fursil, poi tra curve e pendenze estreme si prosegue
verso passo Giau (SS 638), dove visse l’Uomo di mondeval oltre 7.000 anni
fa. raggiunta la località di pocol, l’itinerario continua verso Cortina d’Ampezzo e
passo Tre Croci, paradiso dei motociclisti. Al cospetto delle mitiche Tre Cime, è
d’obbligo una sosta al lago di misurina.

A TRIP BY MOTORBIKE IN THE DOLOMITES
through the most beautiful historical sites
You can continue your stop-off at the little lake nearby, set amid emeraldgreen
fields; and just a few steps away you can admire the silhouette of Fort
Tre Sassi, a fine example of an Austro-Hungarian defence fortification, which is
now a splendid museum.
Pordoi Pass –Andraz – Colle Santa Lucia – Giau Pass
Cortina d’Ampezzo - Cadore
After Andraz, go on towards Colle Santa Lucia (SS 203 trunk road), from where
there are superb views out over the legendary mountains of Civetta and pelmo
and the marmolada. Here you might like to stop off briefly to admire the little
square with the 17th century Chizzali – Bonfadin Palace, which used to be the
headquarters of the Fursil mines. From here, continue round bends and up
steep slopes towards the Giau pass, (SS 638 trunk road), where mondeval
man lived over 7,000 years ago. When you come to pocol, the route continues
towards Cortina d’Ampezzo and the Tre Croci pass, a motorcyclists’ paradise. An
absolute must is a stop-off at misurina Lake, with the mythical Tre Cime in the
background.
