ELISABETH E ROBERT BROWNING A CASA GUIDI
Firenze fu il luogo d’approdo scelto da due grandi poeti inglesi, Elisabeth
e Robert Browning, dopo una romantica fuga dall’Inghiterra opprimente
d’epoca vittoriana. Casa Guidi, loro dimora fiorentina successivamente
trasformata in museo, rappresenta l’incontro di due culture: quella
anglosassone, intrisa di romanticismo, e quella toscana, tradizionalmente
incline al culto della bellezza.
L’eco delle pagine dei due poeti ancora oggi trasforma le stanze in luoghi
dell’anima dove oggetti e arredo testimoniano il soffio della creazione poetica.
In queste “stanze dell’ispirazione” i tessuti Lisio trovano la loro
collocazione ideale, poiché nascono dallo stesso spirito, dalla stessa tradizione,
dalla stessa tensione verso il bello che sono all’origine di Casa Guidi.
ELISABETH AND ROBERT BROWNING AT CASA GUIDI
Elisabeth and Robert Browning, the two great English poets, chose to settle in
Florence. Their home there was Casa Guidi which was later converted into a
museum and which represents the coming together of two cultures, that of the
romantic English-speaking world and that of Tuscany, traditionally leaning
towards the cult of beauty.
Echoes of the works of the two poets still today transform the rooms into spiritual
spaces where objects and furniture bear witness to the breath of poetic creation.
Lisio fabrics are ideal for these places of inspiration in that they are born of the
same spirit, the same tradition and the same striving for beauty on which
Casa Guidi is founded.

La collezione 2008 rimanda all’arte tessile italiana tra Cinquecento e Seicento, caratterizzata da perizia
artigianale e preziosità di materiali: broccatelli che dialogano con la luce, lampassi dalle decorazioni
sinuose e dorate, fruscianti taffetas elegantemente ricamati, raffinati stampati “all’antica”.
Una collezione che come Casa Guidi nasce dal sapiente incontro di ispirazione e poesia.
LISIO COLLECTION 2008: THE ART OF ITALIAN TEXTILES BECOMES POETRY
The 2008 collection references the art of Italian textiles between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries with its
craft skills and precious materials: brocatelle with its play on light, lampas with winding golden decorations and
rustling taffeta with elegant embroidery and refined “antique” prints.
A collection which, like Casa Guidi, is born of the skilful combination of inspiration and lyricism.
