All we needed was an earthquake!
First, there’s the economic and financial crisis that
has affected the entire world and floundering Europe as it
debates spread sheets and struggles to come to terms with countries risking
collapse. Then there’s the request for reciprocity between the European Union and emerging markets that, to date, has met with insurmountable
obstacles. In addition to all these factors, the tragedy in Emilia Romagna is slowing down the international knit-wear/textile market,
especially in the case of Carpi, which has always proved one of the sector’s driving forces. Admittedly, the human implications involved are
even more tragic than any economic repercussions, yet one cannot help but consider the earthquake as the umpteenth sign of a sector that’s
beginning to perceive shadows on the horizon, after the brighter skies that lit up the majority of 2011.
So, even this edition of Showcase, on-paper fair journal and counterpart of the increasingly popular website laspola.com, is gearing up to
discuss those who face the market with new ideas, creativity and professionalism, armed for a crisis like this one. The spinning industry’s
entrepreneurs will be featured in reference to Pitti Filati and readers can expect a focus on textiles destined for Milan or Paris. We’ll also turn
our attention to company consortium managers as they strive to develop new ideas aimed at recovering the splendor of bygone times and
spotlight the experts, providing an inside look at the Italian/international fair system. A non-apocalyptic setting emerges (as was the case in
several two-year periods not too long ago), and there’s no sign of resignation. Instead, there’s a sense of trust in quality and the desire to gain
ground compared to emerging countries. All these factors are at the base of choices made by experts who will present themselves, as usual, in
the corridors of the Fortezza da Basso, Portello and the Parc des Exposition. These elements will be taken into consideration and the same is
true for fashion and trends linked to the upcoming winter. For those with a thermometer in hand, it still feels far away, yet for experts giving
indications and suggestions regarding colors and materials, it’s right around the corner. Said indications are provided by experts who have
dictated fashion guidelines in Europe for many years. And we’re faithfully waiting for the end of this umpteenth international fair session to
understand if the end of 2012 will… belong to the Mayans or be linked to renewal.
Ci mancava solo il terremoto! Dopo le crisi economiche e finanziarie in tutto il mondo, con un’Europa che si dibatte tra spread e Paesi al rischio
del collasso, con le richieste di reciprocità tra Unione Europea e mercati emergenti che trovano ostacoli invalicabili e comunque ancora invalicati è
arrivata anche la disgrazia in Emilia Romagna e a Carpi in particolare a frenare un mercato interno, quello della maglieria e del tessile, che da
sempre è tra i trascinatori del settore.
Detto che il risvolto umano è ancora più tragico di quello economico non si può non considerare il sisma come l’ennesimo segnale di un settore che
torna a vedere ombre all’orizzonte, dopo il sole che aveva rischiarato gran parte del 2011.
Così anche questo Showcase, appendice cartacea e fieristica del sempre più seguito sito laspola.com, torna a parlare con chi sul mercato va con idee,
creatività e professionalità anche per far fronte a crisi come questa. Spazio quindi agli imprenditori della filatura in riferimento a Pitti Filati ed ai
tessili che puntano a Milano e Parigi, a chi si trova a gestire consorzi di aziende e deve trovare nuove idee per tornare ai fasti di un tempo e a chi
il sistema fieristico italiano e internazionale lo osserva da dentro. Emerge un quadro non apocalittico come in qualche biennio non troppo lontano
nel tempo e nemmeno una briciola di rassegnazione. Anzi, la fiducia nella qualità e la voglia di recuperare terreno rispetto ai paesi emergenti è alla
base delle scelte di chi si presenterà, puntuale come sempre, nei corridoi della Fortezza da Basso, del Portello e del Parc des Exposition. Il tutto
tenendo come sempre in considerazione la moda e le tendenze per un inverno ancora lontano, termometro alla mano, ma già ben presente in chi deve
dare indicazioni e suggerimenti su colori e materiali da usare. E sono indicazioni che arrivano da chi da anni detta le linee guida in Europa. E
aspettando con fiducia la fine di questa ennesima tornata fieristica internazionale per capire se la fine del 2012 sarà da... Maya o da rinascita.
