La <strong>Corea</strong> <strong>del</strong> <strong>Sud</strong> rappresenta oggi con un PIL stimato a circa 1.007,08 miliardi di dollari US e<br />
un PIL pro capite di 20.590,96 dollari US nel 2010, la dodicesima economia mondiale (per PIL<br />
2010, dati FMI), la quarta <strong>in</strong> Asia dopo Giappone, C<strong>in</strong>a e India. Inoltre, è importante precisare che<br />
se si tiene conto <strong>del</strong>la parità di potere d’acquisto tra Won e dollaro, il dato relativo al PIL pro capite<br />
sale a 29.835,92 miliardi di dollari US. Come possiamo vedere nella tabella sottostante, la crescita<br />
<strong>del</strong> PIL coreano nel 2009 è rallentata fortemente a causa <strong>del</strong>la crisi <strong>in</strong>ternazionale, attestandosi sullo<br />
0,2% (contro il -0,5% <strong>del</strong> resto <strong>del</strong> mondo) per poi raggiungere <strong>in</strong>vece la “vetta” <strong>del</strong> 6,1% (contro<br />
il 5,0% <strong>del</strong> resto <strong>del</strong> mondo) nel 2010. Inoltre, il Fondo Monetario Internazionale ha previsto anche<br />
per i prossimi anni un andamento sostenuto <strong>del</strong>l’economia coreana: per il 2011 e il 2012 è prevista<br />
una crescita medio-alta <strong>del</strong> PIL, rispettivamente pari al 4,5% e al 4,2%.<br />
