Carnival Parades<br />
Wild carnival fun <strong>in</strong> the neighbourhood<br />
of <strong>Prato</strong>: th<strong>in</strong>gs really<br />
kick off after the middle of January<br />
with parades <strong>in</strong> costume, fun<br />
and enterta<strong>in</strong>ment.<br />
The most eagerly awaited one is<br />
the Paper<strong>in</strong>o Carnival, now at its<br />
31 st edition, with spectacular parades<br />
and shows. There is a<br />
packed programme on 27 th January:<br />
four large floats and various<br />
smaller ones, almost all pushed<br />
by hand, big bikes and go-karts<br />
followed by children and adults <strong>in</strong><br />
costume – over 250 participants<br />
just for the procession! The other<br />
dates are Sunday 3 rd ,<br />
Tuesday 5 th and Sunday<br />
10 th February at 3 p.m.<br />
Parades of allegorical<br />
floats and masquerade <strong>in</strong> the<br />
neighbourhood: 20 th January –<br />
Bagnolo, 27 th January – Oste and<br />
3 rd February Montemurlo.<br />
At 2.30 p.m. on 20 th and 27 th January<br />
parade of masquerade along<br />
Via VII Marzo <strong>in</strong> Galcetello with<br />
music and other attractions.<br />
