Un’equipe di specialisti (ginecologo, gastroenterologo, chirurgo, urologo, radiologo, terapista del dolore, fisiatra e psicologo) aiuterà le pazienti nella diagnosi e nella cura di questa malattia che in Italia colpisce circa 3 miloni di donne. PREVENZIONE Endometriosi Un ambulatorio d’equipe per la diagnosi e la cura A ll’Ospedale di Legnago è stato attivato un ambulatorio integrato per la diagnosi e la cura dell’endometriosi, una malattia ancora poco conosciuta che in Italia colpisce circa 3 milioni di donne in giovane età. I molteplici sintomi con cui si manifesta, dato che interessa numerosi organi interni, hanno suggerito l’idea di coordinare una equipe multidisciplinare di medici che possano dare risposte veloci e accurate alle donne affette da questa patologia a volte invalidante. Dell’ambulatorio integrato fanno parte un ginecologo, un gastroenterologo, un chirurgo, un urologo, un radiologo, un terapista del dolore, un fisiatra e uno psicologo per discutere assieme i casi più complessi. Solo un’attenta valutazione preoperatoria tra professionisti può infatti essere utile per affrontare in modo preciso una cura efficace poiché i sintomi e le localizzazioni della patologia sono molto vari. “Stiamo portando avanti un progetto ambizioso”, sostiene il Direttore Sanitario Dr. Francesco Buonocore, “che ci consentirà di utilizzare la metodologia Day-Service per la prescrizione di più esami e/o visite specialistiche su un’unica impegnativa. Tutto ciò andrà a ridurre ulteriormente Mamma col cuore. La mia vita con l’endometriosi 22 i tempi di diagnosi e contribuirà a una maggiore precisione sul come intervenire”. L’endometriosi si verifica quando l’endometrio, tessuto che riveste la superficie interna dell’utero, si infiltra in altri organi (ovaie, tube, intestino, vescica, ureteri, reni, polmoni, ecc.) causando sanguinamenti interni, infiammazioni, aderenze, cisti e noduli. È una malattia spesso molto dolorosa che mina la qualità della vita creando problemi sul lavoro, nella coppia e in famiglia. Vi sono tuttavia anche casi rari in cui la malattia non è sintomatica, rendendo così difficile la diagnosi e una diagnosi tardiva rappresenta un grande ostacolo nell’impostazione di una cura adeguata: in media occorrono anche sette anni perché l’endometriosi sia diagnosticata in modo corretto. Un lasso di tempo questo che l’ambulatorio integrato ridurrà decisamente attuando cure mirate. “Per l’endometriosi non esiste allo stato attuale una cura definitiva ma le nuove terapie contribuiscono a far acquisire una qualità di vita accettabile alle donne affette da questa patologia” nota il Direttore del reparto di Ostetricia / Ginecologia, Dr. Enrico Arlacchi. “Mamma col cuore. È il titolo del libro di Erika Ferraresi, responsabile della sezione acquisti del Servizio Provveditorato Economato dell’Ulss <strong>21</strong>. “Ho scritto questo libro”, spiega l’autrice, “per dar voce a tutte le donne che come me si trovano a fare i conti con una malattia difficile da accettare perché sconvolge la vita. L’endometriosi ha conseguenze non solo sul piano fisico, ma anche su quello psicologico”. Il libro è stato presentato il 10 maggio scorso alla Fiera Internazionale del Libro di Torino.
