Il canto e la musica di un musicista di strada cieco, assieme ai rumori e alle
voci di una comunità rurale cinese, sono la colonna sonora che accompagna
questo racconto documentaristico. Lo scandiscono diciannove quadri di vita
che si focalizzano non sui problemi sociali, come la povertà o l’indigenza,
bensì sulla semplicità dei gesti e dei modi di questo popolo di contadini e
di allevatori. Un ambiente naturale aff ascinante, che si trasforma, cambia
colori e luci con il trascorrere delle stagioni, è l’orizzonte in cui si muovono
gli abitanti di queste montagne. Una sensazione di pace e di armonia sembra
permeare gli uomini e gli animali, le case e i boschi, le coltivazioni e il fi ume.
Th e voice and music of a blind street musician, along with the sounds and
voices of a rural Chinese community, form the soundtrack that accompanies
this documentary story recounting nineteen slices of life that focus not on
social problems, such as poverty or indigence, but rather on the simplicity of
the ways and gestures of this population of farmers and breeders. A natural
environment that transforms and changes colour and light as the seasons unfold
is the horizon against which the inhabitants of these mountains move. A
sensation of peace and harmony seems to permeate the men and animals, the
houses and woods, the fi elds and the river.

Da 22 anni si occupa di produzione e direzione
di documentari e fi ction televisive. Dopo gli
studi alla London International Film School, ha
lavorato per diversi anni a New York nella postproduzione
di documentari per il National Geographic
Channel e l’HBO. Ritornato a Taiwan, è
entrato a far parte della Bow Wow Productions
per dedicarsi completamente alla regia.
For twenty-two years he has produced and
directed documentaries and television fi ction
programs. After studying at the London Film
School, he worked for a number of years in New
York in the post-production of documentaries
for the National Geographic Channel and HBO.
After returning to Taiwan he joined Bow Wow
Productions where he devotes himself entirely
to directing.
