Cosa è LBT<br />
• LBT è un telescopio binoculare ottico-IR, con<br />
due specchi primari da 8.4m di diametro,<br />
posto a 3200m. di <strong>al</strong>tezza in cima <strong>al</strong> Mt.<br />
Graham (Az). La caratteristica princip<strong>al</strong>e del<br />
telescopio è di essere stato concepito sin<br />
d<strong>al</strong>l’inizio per sfruttare l’ottica adattiva e la<br />
mod<strong>al</strong>ità interferometrica, resa possibile d<strong>al</strong>la<br />
struttura binoculare, che è unica <strong>al</strong> mondo.
