La Repubblica Anche solo il rileggere alcune frasi delle critiche che hanno salutato numerosissime l'uscita a Parigi in quattordici sale del film del collega Luciano Tovoli "L'armata ritorna", fanno sorgere spontanei alcuni interrogativi. Non è possibile che un film italiano di tale impegno infatti e con simili attori, con tali critiche e dopo aver avuto una diffusione capillare in un paese straniero, proprio in Italia non abbia e non trovi diffusione alcuna. Non siamo in crisi di idee? Non siamo in crisi di registi? I nostri film non hanno ancora difficoltà a varcare le Alpi? Possibile che nessun distributore (e perché no il LUCE?) non abbia avuto la buona idea di rilevare questo film dalla fallita Gaumont e distribuirlo nelle sale, magari in un circuito d'essai? E vero, RAI DUE lo ha trasmesso: ma T'Armata ritorna" merita un'adeguata diffusione cinematografica, anche se tardiva. È un'opera che solo nel grande schermo può essere apprezzata appieno. Non distribuire un tale film denota una crisi in atto, crisi che travaglia tutta la nostra politica cinematografica e le sue strutture. La Repubblica Re-reading just some of the many reviews that lauded L'Armata Ritorna, directed by our colleague, Luciano Tovoli, when it was launched in 14 Paris cinemas, a number questions inevitably spring to mind. How is it possible that such a committed Italian film, which received such rave reviews, vjhich was distributed throughout France, and in which the actors gave such "truly inspired" performances, was not — and has still not been — distributed in Italy? Isn't the Italian cinema in crisis because it lacks ideas? And directors? Aren't our films having problems crossing the border? Is it really possible that no distributor — not even Istituto Luce — has thought of acquiring the film from the bankrupt Gaumont, and distributing it in Italy, even on a Cinema d'Essai circuit? True, L'Armata Ritorna was shown on Rai Channel 2, but it deserves a cinema showing, even if somewhat late; it is, in fact, a film that needs to be seen the big screen to be fully appreciated. And, finally, isn't the fact that this film has not been distributed in Italy, further evidence of the crisis our cinema is in?
