AIC Tutti i fenomeni fisici sono scambi di energia. L'energia ha una natura per così dire proteiforme perché, pur mantenendosi inalterata nella quantità, è soggetta alle più svariate trasformazioni qualitative. Essa comprende quindi alcune categorie di radiazioni che la fisica studia per lo più separatamente perché, sebbene siano tutte di una stessa natura, hanno tuttavia proprietà che le fanno differire tra loro. I filosofi greci studiarono a lungo il fenomeno della luce. Pitagora, Empedocle, Platone enunciarono varie teorie, ma la più importante, dal punto di vista storico, è di Aristotele. Egli per primo immaginò che vi fosse un mezzo, veicolo alla propagazione della luce (per cui corpuscolare). Passarono molti secoli prima che altri riprendessero a studiare il comportamento della luce, e così si giunge verso il 1500 a Leonardo, Galileo, Descartes (Cartesio), Huygens, Newton e altri. Newton sostenne la teoria corpuscolare della luce, ma tale teoria molto semplicistica non poteva spiegare soddisfacentemente da sola alcuni fenomeni, quali l'interferenza, la diffrazione, la polarizzazione. Ad Huygens dobbiamo la teoria ondulatoria, secondo la quale tutto l'universo è riempito di etere cosmico, attraverso il quale si propagano le onde luminose. Così nasce quella parte dell'ottica sperimentale che prende il nome di ottica ondulatoria e permette la spiegazione di quasi tutti i fenomeni ottici conosciuti. Più tardi Young spiegò con questa teoria il fenomeno della diffrazione, Malus quello della polarizzazione, e poi, verso la fine del secolo scorso, Maxwell e Hertz stabilirono che le onde luminose hanno carattere elettromagnetico. Einstein con le sue teorie relativistiche ha dato modo di studiare ed approfondire maggiormente cosa s'intende per energia. Quello che volevo puntualizzare era il come tutti questi personaggi si siano indirizzati a studiare l'energia raggiante, l'ottica, la temperatura, i gas rarefatti, la luminescenza, e ROBERTO GIROMETTI perché no, la triboluminescenza, cioè tutto ciò che crea luce. È chiaro che in ognuno di loro c'era un entusiasmo esaltante di indagare nelle cose, nelle persone, nei mezzi, una gran voglia di sapere. Per questo sono convinto che dopo tutto questo si può dire: "La luce è anche amore". All physical phenomena are exchanges of energy. Energy can be said to have a protean nature, in that although the quantity remains constant, it is subject to vastly different qualitative transformations. Energy, therefore, comprises certain types of radiation that physicists, for the most part, study separately because, although they derive from the same source, they nevertheless have different individual properties. The Greek philosophers studied the phenomenon of light exstensively. Pitagora, Empedocles and Plato all prounuced various theories, but it was the one evolved by Aristotle which proved to be the most important. He believed that light had to be propagated in a certain form (therefore, it was corpuscular). It was not until 1500 that Leonardo, Galileo, Descartes, Huygens, Newton and other learned men took up the study of light again. Newton evolved the corpuscular theory of light, but it was too semplicistic to explain other optical phenomena such as interference, diffraction and polarization. It was Huygens who evolved the wave theory, which maintained that the Universe was filled with cosmic ether via which the light waves were propagated. From this theory, wave optics, a branch of experimental optics, came into being, the application of which can explain almost all known optical phenomena. Later, Young was to use the same theory to explain diffraction, and Malus to explain polarization. Then, towards the end of the last century, Maxwell and Hertz established light waves as being electromagnetic. Einstein, with his special and general theories of relativity, enabled a more profound study of energy to be effected which resulted in its being more precisely defined. The fact that a determined amount of time is necessary for the radiant energy to travel from the light source to the object which is to be illuminated, forms the basis of the concept of the propagation of light, as partly by a process of deduction and partly Because of the analogy with mechanical phenomena, our minds have arrived at the point of imagining that during the time that the radiant energy is being transmitted, it is either, shall we say, stored in something (corpuscular) or by some transformation process (wave), both of which act as vehicles for it. AIC Com e noto, la troupe cinematografica è composta di molte categorie di lavoratori, ciascuna delle quali ha una determinata importanza ai fini della coesione della "catena" cinematografica indispensabile alla realizzazione del film. Per questo ogni categoria costituisce uno degli anelli della catena saldamente legati assieme, e tutti egualmente importanti alla riuscita del lavoro. Voglio qui prendere in considerazione l'anello relativo alla categoria cui appartengo, quella degli OP.M., gli operatori di macchina. La nostra specializzazione, e non tutti lo sanno, riveste una importanza fondamentale ai fini del congiungimento dei vari anelli al momento "mitico" del fatidico ciack. Quando parte la macchina da presa e il regista pronuncia la parola "azione!" rivolgendosi agli attori, avviene sempre in ciascuno di noi una certa emozione, poiché nei pochi secondo di ripresa viene concretizzato tutto il lavoro delle varie componenti della troupe, e A.O.I.C. Il nostro lavoro di OP.M. non si limita tuttavia solo all'esecuzione tecnica delle varie operazioni, ma altri aspetti ne completano lo sviluppo. Prima di tutto i fondamentali rapporti col regista, e gli altrettanto importanti buoni rapporti col direttore di fotografia. La collaborazione con quest'ultimo è fattore determinante al funzionamento dell'intero reparto Operatori. Bisogna considerare ancora che molti registi vedono l'OP.M. come "i loro stessi occhi" poiché noi operatori controlliamo materialmente la macchina da presa contribuendo a costruire fisicamente le loro emozioni in seno a ciascuna inquadratura. L'OP.M. SERGIO MELARANCI Questi, grosso modo, sono i nostri compiti principali e le nostre costanti preoccupazioni. Questo stimola continuamente il nostro desiderio di migliorarci e affinare le nostre conoscenze e capacità tecnico-artistiche. When the camera begins to roll, and the Director turns to the actors and calls out: "Action!;", each one of us cannot help but experience a certain feeling of excitement as, during the few seconds of shooting that follow, the work of every single member of the troupe is actually realized on film; and when a take is successful, it is a source of great satisfaction to us. There are other aspects to our work as cameramen, however, and it is not just limited to performing the various technical operations. For example, there is the relationship with the Director, which is all-important. We abo have to establish a good relationship with the Director of Photography as the functioning of the entire camera crew depends on it! One must abo not forget that many Directors refer to us as their "eyes", as it is we who actually operate the camera, helping them to communicate the feelings they want to express in each take. These, more or less, are our main tasks, which we always seek to perform to the best of our ability. Thus, we are constantly seeking to better ourselves, by improving our technical and artistic knowledge and capacities.
