The focus on topical, interesting, authentic visual material will equip students
with the advanced listening skills necessary for many professional situations.
PROGRAMMA DEL CORSO
The course will focus primarily on the following skills:
– Developing students’ ability to follow and comment on a variety of film types,
such as documentary, lecture, interview, speech, film, presentation, and report.
– Instructing students on how to take detailed notes during an audio and/or
video presentation, select the salient points and record the information
accurately in a detailed, written commentary.
DIDATTICA DEL CORSO
Students are divided into groups at the beginning of the academic year according to
their stream of study and should look on the noticeboards in Morozzo della Rocca for their
timetable and group. There are 2 hours of lessons for each group per week.
METODO DI VALUTAZIONE
The end of course language exam is a written test, and consists in writing a document
of 600-1000 words based on an audio or visual recording. Excluding the listening part of
the exam, students have 2 and a half hours to complete the written part. The exam is the
same for all students and can be taken starting from the exam session in May/June.
Monolingual and bilingual dictionaries may be used during the exam.
AVVERTENZE
The teachers are available to see students before and after lessons.
