C'è cinema e
cinema
Spesso nel passato, sul
significato di cinema di qualità
molte parole sono state spese;
vari sostenitori di una tesi o di
un'altra si sono fronteggiati. Poi,
tranne in qualche occasione, si è
entrati in un limbo acquitrinoso;
dal fiume di parole di allora
nessuna ne esce indenne,
nessuna salva.
Parole, che a distanza di qualche
anno hanno perso il loro
significato originario.
Parole che si sono ovunque
logorate, diventando surrogato;
parole che si usano tutti i giorni,
da buttar via, se occorre.
Parole che pronunciate oggi in
pieno post-moderno fanno
sorridere, ed è naif chi le usa; un
po' sciocco e credulone, magari
con i calzoni alla zuava e il basco
in testa.
Giustizia, Libertà, Solidarietà!
Parole, ingredienti per un
cinema di qualità.
Mille poeti dovrebbero lavorare a
tempo pieno per crearne di
nuove con lo stesso significato
(credo che il successo in
occidente di glasnost e
perestrojka derivi dal suono
diverso che emettono).
In questa occasione mi preme
però mettere in evidenza più la
forma che il contenuto del
cosiddetto cinema di qualità.
Accade spesso, che un autore
pur di fare un film di "qualità"
sia costretto a tapparsi le narici.
Per organizzare il film si
circonda di collaboratori, diretti
o indiretti, ai quali, il salto dai
mercati generali al cinema non
dà le vertigini, anzi dà vigore agli
autori esangui che scambiano la
rozzezza per semplicità: sana
violenza popolare da usare
quando serve. Per riderne sopra
e scaricarne responsabilità.
Figliocci, allevati a liberarsi
subito della presenza sindacale e
della residua educazione, se mai
ne hanno avuta una!
Rispetto delle norme
contrattuali!
Roba d'altri tempi. Si fa così:
richiesta di deroga sul minimo di
troupe in commissione
paritetica; Un piano finanziario
da far ridere, un piano di
lavorazione pilotato, materiale
tecnico di ripresa ridotto
all'osso.
Tanto chi controlla? I lavoratori
hanno il ricatto del lavoro! Che
ci vuole a fregare, al mondo
nascono dritti e fessi.
Tutto con l'aureola del cinema di
qualità fatto dall'autore esangue;
pochi diritti, tanta gloria questo
è l'alibi.
La composizione piramidale
della troupe fa in modo che tutti
siano ricattati-ricattatori,
cosicché è tacito l'accordo di
pochi a danno di molti.
Si, ma il film?
Il film sogna di partecipare a
Venezia: altrimenti in concorsi
estivi in località meno
prestigiose.
Intanto producono cialtronerie e
abbassano il livello professionale.
Alimentano false attese in
giovani che vanno ad ingrossare
le file di categorie già sature.
Parentele che aprono le porte:
ma sfondano e sfasciano tutto il
resto: solidarietà qualità della
vita.
I più cinici fra noi nel frattempo
raschiano il barile e spargono
veleno su tutto e su tutti.
Basta con l'alibi del cinema di
qualità!
Sì, ma gli autori?
Agli esangui autori una bella
tavola rotonda, e basta!

Many words have been expended in the past, in an attempt to define "quality
cinema"; various people, holding conflicting theories, have engaged in fierce
verbal battles. Then, apart from in a few instances, everything entered an obscure
•imbo,from which not one word in the continuous stream, emerged unsullied or
unabused
Words that, in the space of a few years, have lost their significance.
ords whose meaning has grown thin everywhere, and which have lost their
substance to become mere surrogates; words that are used daily, trotted out for
effect, when necessary.
W ords, which when pronounced in these ultramodern times, cause people to
smile, and consider anyone who uses them to be naive.
Justice, Freedom, Solidarity, words that symbolise quality cinema.
-4- thousand poets would have to work day and night for years, to create new words
- -th the same significance. (Ibelieve "glasnost"and "perestroika" have
been taken up with such vigour in the West, simply because they sound
different).
In this article, however, I feel a more pressing need to examine the structure,
rather than the content, of quality cinema
V often happens that even if a film author succeeds in making a quality film, he

To organize a quality film, the film author surrounds himself with young people

Who's going to check anyway! The workers use their jobs as a means of blackmail!
It's easy to put one over in this world — some are barn stupid, others smart.
And all this is cloaked in the aura of quality cinema, created by film authors
imth nothing left to say. Few rights, but a lot of glory, this is how they justify it
The power structure of a film crew makes everyone either a blackmailer or a
victim, resulting in the inevitable tacit understanding of a few, to the detriment
of the majority.
Yes, but what about the film!
The film author dreams of competing at the Venice Film Festival, or one of the less
prestigious summerfestivals.
Meanwhile, slapdash films are made, and professional standards lowered False
hopes are instilled in young people, who swell the ranks of categories which have
no room for them. Like influential parents, these film authors open all the doors,
to then smash and destroy the valves inside: solidarity, and the very quality of
life.
In the meantime, the more cynical amongst us have to scrape the bottom of the
barrel, and become envenomed about everything and everybody.

S'mpleness; sheer, brute strength, the prerogative of the lower classes, and there to Yes, but what about the film authors?
