Un giusto
riconoscimento
E stata per me una grande
esperienza aver partecipato alle
riprese del film "Burro'. Una
grandissima esperienza per
diversi motivi.
Questo film, per la regia di J.M.
Sanchez, è stato realizzato in
grandissima parte in un delizioso
paese, Pennabilli, che si trova in
un triangolo
Marche-Toscana-Romagna, dove
la principale dote della
popolazione, oltre all'ospitalità e
alla cortesia, è secondo me il
grande spirito di osservazione.
Dopo tanti anni di questo lavoro
in diverse parti del continente
per la prima volta (forse non la
prima, ma sicuramente l'ultima è
molto lontana nei miei ricordi)
mi sono sentito trattare come
una persona che fa un lavoro
preciso e non da
"cinematografaro". Voglio dire
che non siamo stati "guardati"
come una sorta di saltimbanchi,
un po' imbroglioni, un po' strani.
Anzi il nostro lavoro, parlando
con i giovani, è stato valutato,
apprezzato e nelle loro parole ho
creduto di intuire anche un
certo ringraziamento per quanto
fa il cinema per la gente. E
questo è stato molto bello per
me!
Adesso voglio parlare
dell'episodio che mi ha spinto a
scrivere queste righe.
Era l'ultimo giorno di
lavorazione e ci preparavamo a
girare una scena di notte un po'
movimentata, con pioggia, lampi
e molte comparse. La gente del
paese era lì e seguiva con
interesse le riprese. Rimase con
noi fino all'alba, malgrado il
freddo. E quando ci stavamo
preparando per partire, mentre
parlavo con Sanchez, ci si
avvicinò una coppia non più
giovane che voleva salutarci e
It was a great experience for me to have participated in the shooting of the
film "Burro". A truly great experience, for several reasons. This film,
directed by J.M. Sanchez, was mostly shot on location in Pannabilli, a
charming village situated in a triangular area of land bordering on the
Marches, Tuscany and Romagna. Here, the villagers, as well as being
hospitable and courteous, also have a keen sense of observation.
After many, many years of having worked as a Director of Photography all
over Europe, for the first time (maybe it wasn't the first time, but the last
time was so far back I can't even remember) I felt I was treated like a person
doing a specific job, instead of "one of those crazy film people",
"hat I mean to say is that the villagers didn't regard us with suspicion, as
if we were some kind of travelling freak show. In fact, it was the opposite, as
when I talked to the youngsters, I found them capable of evaluating and
oppreciaXing our work, and also had the feeling they were saying thank you
for how much the Cinema gives people.
j'his gave me an enormous amount of pleasure and satisfaction!
Now, I'd like to recount the episode that inspired me to write these lines.
was the last day of shooting, and we were preparing to film a night scene
with a fair amount of action: lightning, rain and a lot of extras milling
around! The people of the village watched the shooting with great interest,
kept us company until dawn, in spite of the cold.
" hile we were packing up our gear and preparing to leave, and I was
talking to Sanchez, an older couple approached. They wanted to say
goodbye and thank us (this is the exact truth) for the pleasure our work and
Presence had given them during the period of filming. They confessed they
were very sad that we were leaving. Then, the man looked at me, and said:
Christ, you have a hard job, don't you! I never would have thought it ".
AJter so many years, someone had finally understood. Thanks! "Burro"

quanto avevamo dato loro con la
nostra presenza, con il nostro
lavoro per tutto il periodo delle
riprese. Ci dissero che la nostra
partenza li avrebbe molto
rattristati. Poi l'uomo mi guardò
e disse: "Cristo che lavoro duro è
il vostro! Non l'avrei mai
creduto".
Dopo tanti anni era arrivato un
giusto riconoscimento. Grazie!
