3.1 <strong>Mobili</strong>ty Management,livello <strong>di</strong> rete<br />
Vi è un primo approccio per il <strong>Mobili</strong>ty Management, che <strong>in</strong>terviene sullo<br />
strato <strong>di</strong> rete della pila protocollare TCP/IP, più comunemente utilizzata nella<br />
rete Internet.<br />
Tale approccio co<strong>in</strong>volge il protocollo IP, che come noto è il protocollo<br />
per reti a pacchetto.<br />
Vi sono <strong>in</strong> letteratura delle estensioni <strong>di</strong> tale protocollo IPv4 ed IPv6,<br />
che prevedono <strong>in</strong>novazioni nel campo suddetto, <strong>in</strong>novazioni queste ultime<br />
che vanno anche ad <strong>in</strong>teressare nuove metodologie per il supporto della<br />
mobilità <strong>verticale</strong> dell’utente.<br />

La soluzione proposta prende il nome <strong>di</strong> MIP( Mobile IP).<br />
In IPv4 si assume che ogni nodo nella rete ha un suo <strong>in</strong><strong>di</strong>rizzo IP che<br />
rimane <strong>in</strong>alterato durante l’<strong>in</strong>tera durata della comunicazione.<br />
MIP <strong>in</strong>troduce il concetto <strong>di</strong> Home Address ( <strong>in</strong><strong>di</strong>rizzo permanente del<br />
MH) e <strong>di</strong> Care-of Address( CoA). Quest’ultimo risulta essere un <strong>in</strong><strong>di</strong>rizzo<br />
temporaneo che viene assegnato al MH (Mobile Host) quando lui si sta<br />
muovendo dalla sua rete <strong>di</strong> appartenenza verso una rete straniera.<br />
L’HA (l’Home Agent), il router che si occupa dell’<strong>in</strong><strong>di</strong>rizzamento dei<br />
pacchetti verso il MH, viene qu<strong>in</strong><strong>di</strong> <strong>in</strong>formato da una opportuna entità<br />
(Foreign Agent) sul cambiamento temporaneo dell’<strong>in</strong><strong>di</strong>rizzo del MH, pertanto<br />
