Altre montagne hanno avuto origine dal SOLLEVAMENTO verso la superficie <strong>di</strong> gigantesche<br />
masse <strong>di</strong> granito: questa roccia si era formata per il soli<strong>di</strong>ficarsi <strong>di</strong> un particolare tipo <strong>di</strong> lava,<br />
rimasta intrappolata nella crosta terrestre.<br />
ORIGINE VULCANICA DI ALCUNE MONTAGNE<br />
Nelle profon<strong>di</strong>tà della terra si trova il MAGMA, un insieme <strong>di</strong><br />
gas, rocce che, per le altissime temperature sono allo stato<br />
fuso.<br />
Quando riesce a trovare una spaccature nella crosta terrestre, il<br />
magma fuoriesce dal cratere. Il magma che si riversa<br />
all’esterno si chiama LAVA; si raffredda e forma intorno al<br />
cratere il CONO VULCANICO.<br />
Molte montagne sono antichi vulcani ormai spenti come il<br />
VESUVIO (nei pressi <strong>di</strong> Napoli).<br />
