<strong>PCM</strong>:gli standard<br />
La codifica di segnali vocali con tecnica <strong>PCM</strong> è uno standard<br />
per la codifica della voce fin dagli anni ’60, con la sigla G.711.<br />
All’interno di questo standard, sono poi definiti due algoritmi:<br />
'A-Law ’ e ‘ µ-Law ’.<br />
La A-Law è usata in Europa ed altri paesi .<br />
La µ-Law in Nord America ed in Giappone.<br />
Tuttavia, per entrambi i tipi, le ampiezze sono rappresentate<br />
con numeri che vanno da 0 a ± 127, utilizzando 8 bit: uno<br />
per il segno e sette per il valore assoluto.<br />
