1. Alcuni modelli di museo,
posti dove ho fatto mostre negli
ultimi due anni. Sono già tutti
impolverati.

places where I’ve done shows
over the last two years. They’re
already all dusty.

2. Alcuni scarti di disegni che
ho ritagliato. Li tengo quasi
sempre, ne ho delle scatole
intere, anche di plastica e
cartone.
2. A few pieces of drawings I
cut out. I almost always keep
them, I have boxes full, plastic
and cardboard too.
3. Un vecchio messaggio che mi
ha scritto un’amica, dietro c’è
scritto: “Caro Diego, questo è
un regalo che ti farà ricordare
l’importanza di non essere
esqhimese come noi attri… tanti
baci. Avi”
3. An old note a friend wrote to
me, on the back it says: “Dear
Diego, this is a gift to help you
remember the importance of
not being an Eskimo like us...

4. Questa vecchia pellicola non
l’ho mai vista, l’ho trovata per
strada.
4. I’ve never seen this old film, I
found it in the street.
5. Due merde che tengo nella
scatola di un rullino, le ho prese
in Alasca, almeno 15 anni fa,
non so di che animale siano.
5. Two turds I keep in a film
canister. I collected them in
Alaska, at least 15 years ago,
I don’t know what animal
they’re from.

6. Qualche maceria di
un vecchio progetto che
consisteva nel fare un buco in
terra e poi cercare di asportarlo.
6. A few remains of an old
project that consisted in making
a hole in the ground and then
trying to dig it out.
7. Queste servivano per il trucco
delle donne cinesi, me le ha
vendute un antiquario ebreo a
Teheran, sono di avorio! (Mi ha
detto…).
7. These are jars Chinese
women used for makeup, a
Jewish antiques dealer in
Tehran sold them to me, they’re
ivory! (That’s what he said...).

8. Una volta ho provato a
stampare a sbalzo su una lastra
di alluminio il mio migliore
modello di ambulanza.
8. Once I tried using my best
model ambulance as a stamp to
emboss a sheet of aluminum.
9. Una palla fatta con orecchie
di asino conciate, non mi è mai
piaciuta ma la conservo.
9. A ball of tanned donkey ears;
I’ve never liked it but I’ve kept it.

10. In questa scatola tengo
degli scarti di corna, li uso come
materiale da intagliare, per ora
ho realizzato delle orecchie.
10. I keep pieces of horn in this
box, and use them as material
for carving; for now I’ve made
some ears.

mi costruivo dei timbri per
dipingere. Ora mi piacciono
come oggetti.

made stamps to paint with. Now
I like them as objects.
