PLANETARIO
Il planetario è uno strumento che permette di proiettare su di uno
schermo a forma di cupola il cielo notturno visibile da qualsiasi località
e in qualsiasi anno, giorno e ora. Lo spettacolo dura 5 minuti e illustra
come, osservando le stelle, ci si possa orientare. Quando si spengono
le luci, il planetario simula il crepuscolo e sulla volta che rappresenta i
cieli compaiono le stelle, i pianeti e la Luna così come li vedremmo in
un determinato luogo e giorno dell’anno. Accelerando il moto apparente
della volta celeste, vedrete che nuove stelle sorgono a Est, mentre altre
tramontano a Ovest. Alcune costellazioni, però, non tramontano mai, né
nell’arco della notte, né nell’arco dell’anno: sono le costellazioni circumpolari,
che descrivono un cerchio intorno al polo Nord celeste. Queste
stelle ci indicano quindi la direzione Nord.
Dietro lo spettacolo affascinante offerto da un osservatorio astronomico
c’è l’abilità umana di potenziare il proprio occhio con i telescopi,
apparecchi altamente tecnologici di lenti e specchi. Questi raccolgono
la luce proveniente dai lontani oggetti celesti e la concentrano in un
punto detto “fuoco”. Riproducono così un’immagine ingrandita di pianeti,
satelliti...
PLANETARIUM
The planetarium is an instrument which allows
projecting the night sky visible from any locality and
in any year, day or time on a screen in the shape
of a dome. The spectacle lasts five minutes and illustrates
how, observing the stars one can be oriented.
When the lights are switched off, the planetarium
simulates dusk and on the face which represents the
skies, stars, planets and the Moon they appear such
as we would see them in a specific place and day
of the year. Accelerating the speed apparent on the
celestial face, you will see new stars emerging in the
East, while at sundown others fade in the West. Some
constellations, however, never fade, neither during
the night, nor during the year: these are the circumpolar
constellations, that describe a circle around the
celestial North pole. Therefore, these stars indicate
the direction of the North.
Behind the fascinating spectacle offered by an ob-
servatory of astronomy there is the human ability
to strengthen one’s eyes with telescopes, highly technological
equipment of lenses and mirrors. These
collect the light coming from far away celestial
objects and concentrate them on a point called
