ZEN-PONG - INTERFACCIA E SISTEMA La tecnologia visibile che
ci permette di interagire con il sistema invisibile necessita di un’interfaccia,
una sorta di cruscotto che contiene tutti i comandi a vostra
disposizione. Dal telefono al telecomando, quotidianamente incontriamo
interfacce di molti tipi. Alcune sono più versatili di altre, alcune
ci permettono funzioni complesse, altre sono semplici. Quante volte ci
siamo ritrovati a studiare l’utilizzo di un menù ma soprattutto a cercare
di far funzionare attraverso display o pulsanti una tecnologia appena
acquistata? Alle diverse postazioni potrete testare alcune interfacce
che usate solitamente, per trovare quella più adatta allo ZEN-PONG,
un video gioco interattivo da giocare in 8 mentre le palline si scontrano
proiettate in un piccolo giardino zen.
SUONI INVISIBILI E TELECOMUNICAZIONI Una installazione sonora
vi guiderà in un viaggio alla scoperta di telegrafo, modem, fax...
tutte le diverse tecnologie inventate dall’uomo per comunicare. Tutti
oggetti che emettono un suono caratteristico... Scrivete dunque il vostro
nome e lo ascolterete in linguaggio morse. Ascoltate come viene
modulata l’informazione nelle varie connessioni di banda (modem, adsl,
isdn...). Quindi provate a indovinare la tecnologia attraverso il “suo” suono
e soprattutto ascoltate il rumore di una centralina telefonica mentre
fate una telefonata completamente analogica, quella digitale la fate
abitualmente dal vostro cellulare...
ACCELERATORI: APPLICATEVI! Tutti noi a casa abbiamo un acceleratore
di particelle, e precisamente di elettroni: il tubo catodico del
televisore. Qui potrete provare un acceleratore di particelle e scoprire
come lo usano i fisici: dallo studio della materia ad applicazioni in medicina
e nella conservazione dei beni artistici.
ZEN-PONG - INTERFACE AND SYSTEM The
visible technology which will allow us to interact
with the invisible system needs an interface, a sort
of dashboard which contains all the commands at
your disposal. From the telephone to the remote control
daily we meet interfaces of many types. Some
are more versatile than others, some allow complex
functions, and others are simple. How many times
have we found ourselves studying the usefulness of
a menu but above all try, through a display or push
button, to make a newly acquired technology work.
At the different places you can test some of the interfaces
that your normally use, to find that which
is more suitable to ZEN-PONG, an interactive video
game to play with eight persons while the balls hit
each other projected in a small Zen garden.
INVISIBLE SOUNDS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS
A sound installation which will guide you on a journey
to discover the telegraph, the modem, the fax...
all the different technologies invented by men to
communicate. All objects which emit a characteristic
sound. So, write your name and you will listen in
Morse code or as in the connection of the magnetic
strip type (Modem, ADSL, ISDN...). Then try to guess
the technology through “its” sound and above all li-
sten to the sound of a telephone exchange, make a
completely analogical telephone call, the digital one
you usually make through your cell phone.
ACCELERATORS: APPLY YOURSELVES!
Everyone has an accelerator of particles in the house,
and precisely electrons: the cathode tube of the television.
Here you can test an accelerator of particles
and discover how the physicists use them: from the
study of the subject to applications in medicine and
for preserving artistic property.
