“Technology should not interfere with nature” is an illogical
and pre-scientific vision which we do not wish even to take
into consideration that the technology itself could be a product
of nature.
The consolation, but also the pre-occupation of many people,
that such modifications and evolutive lines are inescapable:
that is dictated by history and by what we have before our
eyes every day. The discoveries, the new technologies, the inventions,
and the “manipulations” of nature go ahead in any
case, whatever the laws or moral inhibitions and ethics we
put in place. We can slow down the application of a form of
cure or a line of research in a country, but immediately studies
are accelerated in others: the evolution, understood widened
in this sense, cannot be slowed and perhaps the real risk for
humanity is to try to stop it, not comply with it, inasmuch as
if we stop evolution, we stop life.
