When someone plays an action card, the next player must do exactly
what that action card says. The rules for playing action cards
are the same as for any other card: they must match the top card of
the discard pile either in colour or in the animal shown.
Exception: The butterfly action card (choose a colour) may be
played on any card (also see Action Cards, below).

It’s Birgit’s turn. She plays the butterfly action card (“Choose a Colour”),
asking for the colour blue. The next player (Hanna) must
now play a blue card (or another “Choose a Colour” card).
If a player cannot (or doesn’t want to) play a card, he draws the top
card off the stock and takes it in hand. The turn to play passes at
once – drawing a card and then playing one in the same turn is not
allowed.
