Taste ambassador<br />

The Girarrosto, in Sao Paolo, is a recentlyopened<br />

Sicilian restaurant named after the<br />

revolving wooden oven brought in from Italy<br />

and used for slow roasting.<br />

excellent reviews in Trip Advisor and a menu<br />

offering, as hors d’oeuvres, white polenta<br />

with scallops and pine nuts or stewed<br />

octopus. Raviolotti with bacon and pine<br />

nuts, bauletti with creamed ricotta cheese<br />

and orange and raviolo aperto with seafood<br />

and ginger are just a few examples of the<br />

fresh pasta starters, which also include the<br />

classic lasagne.<br />

Durum wheat pasta includes linguine with<br />

clams and while the choice of risottos<br />

embraces that with porcini mushrooms and<br />

Italian gorgonzola cheese. Among main<br />

dishes are mixed fish grill with Sicilian<br />

lemon sauce and a fry-up of seafood<br />

all’Amalfitana. Meat dishes include sirloin<br />

steak with extra-virgin olive oil, Tournedos<br />

Rossini and Milanese-style veal chop with<br />

saffron risotto. Echoes of Sicily and of<br />

Italian gastronomy in a refined, modern,<br />

carefully-designed restaurant.<br />

Back in Belo Horizonte there is the<br />

Provincia di Salerno. Opened in 1983 by<br />
