Today Sicily and its productions are
acquiring new importance on the
international scene. In particular, its flagship
wine has been transformed into a high
quality product by its strong territorial
identity, combining the typical features of
each zone. Sicily, the continent of wine
with a wide-ranging production from
autochthonous to international vines, skilfully
planted in the rich island soil, is establishing
itself as the land of wine, due to its products
that are able to satisfy consumers’ tastes in
whatever part of the world.
Over several years the Istituto Regionale
Vini e Oli di Sicilia [Regional Institute of
Wines and Oils of Sicily] has put into
practice an internationally-aimed programme
for the promotion of Sicilian wines and the
Sicilian territory. Its various stages during
the year present the island’s excellences to
the markets of the most important countries.
The essential and complementary elements
of this project are identity, communication,
territory and culture.
New horizons and new opportunities for
Sicilian exports are now opening up. The
emerging and strongly expanding markets
of the BRICS areas are showing great
attention towards Sicilian oenological
production. To this context belongs the
new magazine “Tasting Sicily: wine &
more”, created in collaboration with Sole
24 Ore and intended to support the web
platform in relating Sicilian wines and
products through the territories of origin
and through the eyes of witnesses to
their taste, that is to say those people all
over the world who, whether for passion
or profession, have been able to spread
awareness of the wines and products of
the regional territory.
Sicilian companies are in pole position
to transform this great occasion into new
commercial opportunities. In their support,
the Assessorato Regionale alle Risorse
Agricole ed Alimentari della Regione
Siciliana is now promoting “Born in Sicily”,
or “born and produced in Sicily”, a slogan
intended to become synonymous with the
quality of local produce and to convey not
only the taste but also the values of this
extraordinarily rich land.
Editorial
Oggi la Sicilia e le sue produzioni
stanno acquistando nuova importanza
nello scenario internazionale. In particolare
vitigni autoctoni a quelli internazionali,
Ci
sono i mercati emergenti e di forte
espansione dell’area BRICS che si stanno
dimostrando molto attenti alla produzione
enologica siciliana. In questo contesto si
inserisce il nuovo magazine “Tasting Sicily:
wine & more”, creato in collaborazione con
regionale.
Le aziende siciliane hanno le carte in
regola per trasformare in nuove opportunità
commerciali questa grande occasione. Ed
in questa stessa linea oggi l’Assessorato
Regionale alle Risorse Agricole ed
Alimentari della Regione Siciliana
promuove il “Born in Sicily”, ovvero nato e
prodotto in Sicilia, perché diventi sinonimo
