these pens – as well as those made for E.E.<br />
Ercolessi’s pen store in Milan – clearly<br />
owes a great deal to the system used by<br />
Waterman.<br />
La versione con vera a scacchi é ulteriormente<br />
arricchita nell'estetica dalla presenza<br />
di sei sottili anellini di finitura, posizionati<br />
a coppie, sul corpo penna e sulle<br />
estremità del cappuccio e del fondello.<br />
Tutti e tre i modelli sono disponibili nelle<br />
misure 55 (grande), 52 (media) 52 1/2<br />
(media e sottile) e 52 1/2 V (lady, sia con<br />
anellino che con clip). La numerazione,<br />
utilizzata anche per le gamme prodotte<br />
per il negozio E.E. Ercolessi di Milano, fa<br />
chiaramente riferimento al sistema di<br />
numerazione tipico di Waterman. Si tratta<br />
del modello denominato "Ellittica" (dicitura<br />
utilizzata per la prima volta nel volumetto<br />
"Stilografiche Omas dal 19<strong>25</strong> ad<br />
These pens are now referred to as the<br />
“elliptical” model – an expression coined<br />
in the booklet Stilografiche Omas dal 19<strong>25</strong><br />
ad Oggi, later rubber stamped by Dolcini,<br />
and now in common use.<br />
Omas advertised that the line was available<br />
in no fewer than 20 unbreakable colors.<br />
The elliptical Minerva range included<br />
an even greater number of variants than<br />
what was presented in the catalog. Besides<br />
the versions described above, the elliptical<br />
Minerva was made with a profiled clip,<br />
three thin cap bands, and three decorative<br />
rings on the pen body and ends.<br />
