Preface
The preparation of this material for publication has been a most difficult
task with outdated names for causal agents probably the stickiest of the
problems. The second most difficult problem was that of causal agents
identified in the early days of plant pathology in Hawaii. We have been unable
to verify organisms recorded in those early days and often suspect that a
mistake was made in the original identification since subsequent reports are
not recorded in available literature nor found in available files.
The purpose of this note is not to justify the mistakes you may find but
rather to indicate to every reader that this is a working draft of a Hawaii Plant
Disease Host List. We solicit from each of you corrections and of course
references to update those errors contained in this manuscript.
It is our hope that you will find this information useful in your work.
