Some notes on nomenclature
1. Leucojum
All the small species of Leucojum have been assigned to a new genus, Acis. The
species of Leucojum retaining their old names are LL aestivum and vernum. The
name changes of the other species are listed below:

2. Meconopsis (Fertile Blue Group) Lingholm
This is the only cultivar at present grown from the group of seed-raised perennial
tall blue poppies (other than the species M betonicifolia, M grandis, and M
simplicifolia). Unfortunately Meconopsis Lingholm is often distributed under the
names M sheldonii and M grandis. The true species M grandis has recently been
reintroduced into cultivation but exists in only a few gardens. The vast majority of
plants in cultivation under the name Meconopsis grandis are Meconopsis
‘Lingholm’. We have only listed plants under the name M grandis if we are
absolutely sure of their origin.
3. Collector’s numbers
Collector’s numbers are only used in the seed list if they are from first generation
seed of that number, or if the plant has not been identified at specific level.
Sometimes we have retained the collection number for a distinct form or variety.
