Lucas <strong>Lambda</strong> <strong>Sensors</strong><br />
<strong>Lambda</strong> Sensor visual check<br />
On removal of the <strong>Lambda</strong> sensor first inspect its condition. Any sign of damage to the body, wires or the<br />
plug you should change the sensor. If you are replacing the engine for what ever reason you should always<br />
change the sensor as well, likewise if you have to replace the Catalytic Converter for any reason always change<br />
the <strong>Lambda</strong> sensor as well.<br />
RICH FUEL MIXTURE<br />
Rich running problems or engines<br />
that are burning oil will lead to the<br />
<strong>Lambda</strong> sensor getting fouled or<br />
clogged up.<br />
ANTI-FREEZE CONTAMINATION<br />
In the event of a leaking or blown head<br />
gasket anti-freeze contamination will<br />
damage the <strong>Lambda</strong> sensor.<br />
SILICONE POISONING<br />
Using fuel additives or lubricants that<br />
contain silicone in will damage the<br />
<strong>Lambda</strong> sensor.<br />
In all these cases the <strong>Lambda</strong> sensor must be changed !
