<strong>Merano</strong> <strong>Magazine</strong>, die Zwölfte<br />

Das erste Dutzend ist voll, denn Sie halten<br />

nunmehr bereits die 12. Ausgabe des <strong>Merano</strong><br />

<strong>Magazine</strong> in der Hand. Die Redaktion war<br />

in all den Jahren bemüht, Gästen wie Einheimischen<br />

Meran und seine Umgebung anhand<br />

von ausgewählten Ausschnitten, besonderen<br />

Details und charakteristischen Persönlichkeiten<br />

näherzubringen, die stellvertretend für die<br />

gesamte Landschaft stehen und den Kontrast<br />

von Berg und Tal, Stadt und Land, alpin und<br />

mediterran widerspiegeln. Stets waren wir<br />

bestrebt, neben den redaktionellen Inhalten<br />

auch Fotografie und Grafik von Ausgabe zu<br />

Ausgabe weiterzuentwicklen, und besonders<br />

in diesem Heft haben wir einen doch recht<br />

deutlichen – aus unserer Sicht gelungenen –<br />

Schritt nach vorne gewagt. Die Grafik geht<br />

neue Wege, für mehrere Hauptthemen wurde<br />

mit namhaften Fotografen exklusiv für dieses<br />

Heft geshootet – mit dem Ziel, den besonderen<br />

Lifestyle und das einzigartige Lebensgefühl<br />

im Meraner Land einzufangen und dem Leser<br />

näherzubringen. Zwei Beispiele? Lesen Sie die<br />

Titelgeschichte „My bike“, in der Meraner ihre<br />

ganz persönliche Beziehung zu ihrem Rad und<br />

dessen Nutzung offenlegen, oder das „Duell<br />

der Köche“, in dem eine eingefleischte Südtiroler<br />

Bäuerin und ein süditalienischer Koch<br />

einen kulinarischen Wettstreit austragen, wessen<br />

Küche denn die bessere sei. Der Ausgang?<br />

Als Südtirol-Liebhaber bzw. Südtiroler wissen<br />

Sie es schon: eine Liaison, eine glückliche<br />

Vereinigung der an sich so unterschiedlichen<br />

kulinarischen Traditionen.<br />

Dodicesima vetta per <strong>Merano</strong> <strong>Magazine</strong><br />

Quota dodici è stata raggiunta; quello che tenete<br />

fra le mani è infatti il dodicesimo numero<br />

di <strong>Merano</strong> <strong>Magazine</strong>. In tutti questi anni la<br />

redazione si è data da fare per proporre agli<br />

ospiti e ai meranesi scorci selezionati sulla città<br />

di <strong>Merano</strong> e i suoi dintorni, dettagli caratteristici,<br />

personalità di spicco, rappresentativi<br />

di un’intera regione e del gioco di contrapposizioni<br />

esistente tra montagna e valle, città e<br />

campagne, ambiente alpino e mediterraneo.<br />

È stato nostro impegno costante, accanto ai<br />

compiti redazionali, sviluppare di volta in volta<br />

anche gli aspetti grafici e fotografici. In particolare,<br />

in questo numero abbiamo compiuto un<br />

deciso passo in avanti in questo senso. Secondo<br />

noi, con pieno successo.<br />

La grafica percorre nuove vie; troverete<br />

molte immagini di nomi importanti della fotografia,<br />

scattate in esclusiva per questo numero<br />

della rivista per catturare il particolare stile e<br />

gusto per la vita che si respira a <strong>Merano</strong>, e<br />

renderne partecipe il lettore. Due esempi?<br />

Leggete la storia di copertina “My bike”, in cui<br />

i meranesi confessano la loro relazione tutta<br />

personale con la bicicletta e l’uso che ne fanno;<br />

oppure il “duello fra cuochi”, che mette a confronto<br />

un’incallita contadina sudtirolese con<br />

un cuoco del meridione d’Italia, per decidere<br />

quale cucina sia la migliore. Con quale esito?<br />

Come appassionati di vicende altoatesine, la<br />

risposta la sapete già: un legame a doppio filo,<br />

un connubio ideale, uno sposalizio ben riuscito<br />

tra due tradizioni culinarie così diverse.<br />

The 12th summit for <strong>Merano</strong> <strong>Magazine</strong><br />

The magic twelve has been reached: what you<br />

hold in your hands is in fact the twelfth issue<br />

of <strong>Merano</strong> <strong>Magazine</strong>. In all these years, the<br />

editorial staff have done their best to provide a<br />

wealth of suggestions for guests and residents<br />

of <strong>Merano</strong> / Meran as to what they can see and<br />

do in and around <strong>Merano</strong>. Distinctive details<br />

and renowned personalities are representative<br />

of an entire region where contrasts abound:<br />

between the mountains and valleys, town and<br />

country, the Alpine and Mediterranean. It has<br />

been our constant commitment, alongside our<br />

editorial work over this time, to develop the<br />

magazine’s graphics and photographs. In particular,<br />

this issue has taken a giant leap forward<br />

in these aspects, which we believe has been very<br />

successful.<br />

The graphics, particularly, are treading new<br />

ground and you will find some very famous<br />

photographers have taken many of the pictures,<br />

which were taken exclusively for this issue of<br />

the magazine to capture the unique style and<br />

zest for life that is breathed in <strong>Merano</strong>, so that<br />

you, the reader, can truly participate in our<br />

life. Two examples? Read the cover story, "My<br />

bike", where residents of <strong>Merano</strong> divulge their<br />

very personal relationship with their bicycle<br />

and what they use them for, or the "duel between<br />

chefs", which pits a keen South Tyrolean<br />

housewife against a cook from southern Italy<br />

to decide whose cooking is the best. And who<br />

won? As fans of South Tyrol, you already know<br />

the answer: a strong bond, a perfect match, a<br />

successful marriage between two very different<br />

culinary traditions.<br />
