In una fabbrica specializzata nello smaltimento<br />
dei rifiuti, il ritmo alienante di gesti meccanici e<br />
umani ripetuti senza sosta, si trasforma lentamente<br />
in una vera e propria musica. E quando<br />
un operaio comincerà a intonare una canzone,<br />
tutti gli altri lavoratori lo seguiranno dando<br />
vita a un canto liberatorio. Tra documentario<br />
e musical, il cortometraggio, presentato a Locarno,<br />
è, secondo la stessa autrice, ispirato al<br />
lavoro di Alan Lomax e ai film di Jacques Tati.<br />
Inside a waste treatment plant, the rhythmical<br />
flow of movement gradually turns into music.<br />
And when a worker starts to sing, all the others<br />
join in, united in a song of liberation. According<br />
to the filmmaker, the inspiration for this short,<br />
part documentary, part musical, presented at<br />
Locarno, came from the work of Alan Lomax<br />
and films by Jacques Tati.<br />

Tre amici si incontrano in un pub e, tra una birra<br />
e l’altra, cominciano a parlare della loro esistenza<br />
quotidiana (il traffico cittadino sempre<br />
più intenso, le vacanze o le prestazioni della<br />
nuova automobile), finendo a discutere degli<br />
effettivi costi e benefici delle energie rinnovabili.<br />
Ma, ben prima di quanto si aspettino, dovranno<br />
fare i conti con l’elevato impatto ambientale<br />
che le loro vite hanno sul pianeta. Girato in un<br />
solo giorno nel maggio del 2009.<br />
Three friends meet in a pub. They start talking<br />
about their daily lives (traffic jams, vacation<br />
plans, their new car’s performance), and wind<br />
up discussing the real costs and benefits of renewable<br />
energy. But they will soon have to take<br />
into account the environmental footprint their<br />
lifestyle leaves on the planet. Filmed on one day<br />
in May 2009.<br />
