Larry lavora per il canile, ma la sua vera passione
è la tassidermia a cui si dedica con dedizione
assoluta nel suo tempo libero. La casa dove
vive è così gremita delle tante specie impagliate
che rappresentano per l’uomo l’unica compagnia
a una solitaria e altrimenti vuota esistenza.
Una notte, trova un cagnolino di nome Sammy
che la mattina dopo scopre essere ancora vivo:
sarà l’inizio di una nuova amicizia e di un cambiamento
radicale nella vita di Larry.
Larry works for an animal shelter but his real
passion is taxidermy, which he pursues in his
free time. His home is full of stuffed animals
that give him companionship in his otherwise
lonely and empty existence. One night he finds
a small dog by the name of Sammy which is
still alive the following day: this marks the
beginning of a new friendship and a radical
change in Larry’s life.

Una ragazza è costretta ad abbandonare il villaggio
dove è nata per trasferirsi a Shanghai. Un
giovane, innamorato di lei, decide di seguirla in
treno. L’impatto con la grande città sarà però
più traumatico del previsto: dovranno così entrambi
adattarsi a uno stile di vita e un paesaggio
completamente diverso rispetto a quello a
cui sono abituati. Metafora della Cina contemporanea
in cui immagini reali si fondono con
spazi virtuali realizzati in computer grafica 3D.
A girl is forced to leave her village and move
to Shanghai. A young man who has fallen in
love with her follows her by train. The impact
of the big city will be more than they expected:
they will need to adapt to a new lifestyle and
unaccustomed surroundings. A metaphor for
today’s China, in which real-life sequences are
mixed with 3-D computer-generated images of
virtual landscapes.
