Sull’onda dei Sonic Youth, secondo cui la città<br />
è un fiore naturale, alle immagini legate al tipico<br />
paesaggio urbano contemporaneo (traffico<br />
caotico o anonimi edifici) si contrappongono<br />
quelle di alcune piante emerse dal cemento:<br />
veri e propri simboli in grado di tracciare le linee<br />
della possibile resistenza a un ecosistema<br />
falsato e dannoso e di rivelare quel legame con<br />
la natura che sembra irrimediabilmente perduto<br />
o dimenticato.<br />
Following the Sonic Youth notion that the<br />
city is a real flower, the film juxtaposes images<br />
of today’s urban landscape (traffic jams<br />
and faceless buildings) with plants growing<br />
between the cracks in the cement: traces of<br />
resistance against a counterfeited ecosystem<br />
and ties with nature which seem to have been<br />
lost or forgotten.<br />

Per tentare di rispondere a questa domanda<br />
Martin Le Chevallier ha messo in scena una serie<br />
di dialoghi tra alcune figure quasi archetipiche<br />
della globalizzazione contemporanea (dal<br />
consumatore francese al lavoratore cinese) che<br />
si affrontano per capire chi ha più colpe, sfidandosi<br />
e accusandosi reciprocamente dei danni<br />
che stanno causando al mondo e all’umanità.<br />
Who is chiefly responsible for the world’s dramatic<br />
state of health? To answer this question,<br />
Martin Le Chevallier staged a series of<br />
dialogues between archetypical figures of contemporary<br />
globalization (from French consumers<br />
to Chinese workers) who argue about who<br />
really is at fault for the damage caused to the<br />
world and to humanity.<br />
