Undici storie per raccontare il forte legame tra cultura ciclistica e<br />
la capitale britannica. Dal Pedal Club, che riunisce distinti gentleman<br />
di mezza età che ogni mese organizzano un incontro in un<br />
pub per discutere di ciclismo, al giovane courier che consegna fiori<br />
per tutta la città, dall’ex tossicodipendente senzatetto a cui la bicicletta<br />
ha cambiato la vita all’unica squadra di polizia in bici di tutta<br />
l’Inghilterra, fino a un olimpionico ottantenne che ancora non ha<br />
rinunciato alla sua passione e alla London World Naked Bike Ride,<br />
che si è svolta il 12 giugno 2010 e che ha riunito oltre mille persone<br />
per protestare contro la dipendenza dall’automobile.<br />
Eleven stories in an account of the strong link between cycling<br />
and Britain’s capital. From the Cycle Club composed of distinguished<br />
middle-aged men who meet monthly in a pub to talk<br />
about cycling, to a young courier who delivers flowers throughout<br />
the city, to a former drug abuser and homeless person whose<br />
life changed thanks to a bike, to the only bike-mounted police patrol<br />
in England, to an 80-year-old Olympic athlete who still pedals,<br />
to the London World Naked Bike Ride, which took place on<br />
12 June 2010 and involved over 1000 persons to protest against<br />
dependence on the automobile.<br />
