I Bought a Rainforest<br />

Il trentenne Jacob Andrén ha partecipato durante gli anni della<br />
scuola elementare a una raccolta fondi per salvare le foreste<br />
pluviali del pianeta. Insieme ai suoi compagni di classe, sollecitati<br />
dai loro insegnanti e grazie ai soldi recuperati al mercato delle<br />
pulci, comprò quindi una piccola area verde, come del resto certificato<br />
da un documento in seguito ricevuto. Ma ora, a distanza<br />
di oltre vent’anni, Jacob prova improvvisamente la curiosità di<br />
sapere che fine ha fatto la loro proprietà: esiste ancora? E dove<br />
si trova? Quando la localizza in Costa Rica, decide di imbarcarsi<br />
in un viaggio sulle tracce dei suoi alberi e in cerca di risposte.<br />
The thirty-year-old Jacob Andrén donated to campaigns to save<br />
the rainforests. Encouraged by their teachers, and with money<br />
earned from flea market sales, the elementary school children<br />
bought a small plot of land, as certified by an official receipt.<br />
Some 20 years on, Andrén was curious to find out what happened<br />
to that real estate: is it still there and if so, where is it?<br />
On discovering that his piece of the rainforest is in Costa Rica,<br />
Andrén journeys to the Central American island in search of his<br />
trees and an answer to questions about the environment.<br />
