General terms of sale Materials - maintenance and cleaning Precautions and directions for use
The current price list, which will become effective from 1st may 2007, cancels
and replaces the former ones. Urbinati reserves the right to change the
prices and materials of its products without notice.
The prices stated in this price list, are retail prices. The freight charges or
the minimum purchasing quantities necessary for the fulfilment of the
order are decided on the basis of the country of destination and the sales
conditions there applied.
PAYMENTS
In case of delayed payments or unpaid drafts or bills, interests will be charged
at the current bank rate, and stamp duty, bank and administrative
expenses will also be charged to the customer.
Payments are considered valid when made directly to the Supplier or to a
third party authorized in writing.
The Supplier cannot be held responsible for any incorrect affixing of VAT
number, which must be given notice in writing.
ORDERS
When sending an order, please be precise about: quantity, description, item
code, wood code as stated in the catalogue and price list. Orders must be
directly passed on to the Supplier’s address. The Supplier may cancel
orders or reduce quantities in circumstances of force majeure. Force majeure
refers to the failure to receive deliveries of raw material. Lack of means
of transport or forced interruption of work (strikes, natural disasters, locksout,
etc).
Orders are subject to the Supplier’s approval but are binding on the purchaser.
DELIVERY DATES
Delivery dates stated in the purchase order and order confirmation are guideline.
No liability or penalties are accepted for late deliveries. The deliveries
and freight charges are entirely at buyer’s risk even when goods are
free delivered. As far as customer-fabric models are concerned, the delivery
date starts from the arrival of the fabric itself to our seat.
CLAIMS
Any damages in transit must be peremptorily marked on the CMR or delivery
note when unloading and confirmed in writing to the Supplier within
eight days from receipt of goods. The consignee is there fore kindly requested
to check the goods on unloading. Any claims for breakages and damages
in transit must be made to the relevant carrier immediately. No claims
are accepted after eight days from receipt of goods. If these instructions are
not observed, Urbinati does not replace the claimed goods. No claims due
to an improper use of the product are accepted.
RETURN OF GOODS
The return of goods is not accepted unless authorised in advance by the
Supplier; such shipments must be made freight prepaid. The goods must
be returned in their original packing.
LAW COURT
The Pesaro (Italy) Law Court will have sole jurisdiction in case of any
disputes or litigation.
MATERIALS - MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
GLASS
Urbinati’s systems of furnishing complements and collection in plate glass
are realized thanks to a welding technique which, by means of ultra-violet
light, allows the sheets of glass to remain totally transparent where welded
with structural adhesives and, at the same time, considerably more resistant.
The extreme precision in grinding the sheets of glass to be welded,
together with the incomparable execution of different angulations weldings,
make Urbinati’s items authentic masterpieces as far as quality, resistance
and brightness at sight are concerned. These characteristics, together
with the skill of famous designers, make Urbinati’s production elegant,
functional and reliable. To clean the items in plate glass, we advise
you to use specific neutral glass cleaning products. Do not use any other
product such as thinners or abrasive products.
WOODS
Wood is a natural material. Each piece has its own colour and struc-ture.
Small veins and grains on the surface are not to be considered defects but
a guarantee of authenticity, therefore no reject or reclamation will be
accepted. The materials in the sample book are therefore guideline.
To clean the items in wood we advise you to use specific glass cleaning products
(not abrasive).
Do not use either thinners or alcohol.
METALS
Pickled carbon steel. Cloud chamber corrosion tests have been satisfactorily
passed according to law (UNI ISO 9227/93).
Stainless steel according to law (INOX AISI 304, U.S.A.; UNI 1810, ITALY)
Polished aluminium (ALL 5754) treated with antioxidant.
Painted metal surfaces.
To clean the items in painted metal, we advise you to use specific glass
cleaning products (not abrasive). Do not use either thinners or alcohol.
Chromium-plated surfaces.
To clean the items in chromium-plated metal, we advise you to use specific
chrome cleaning products.
METHACRYLATES
Methacrylate drawers have a 4 mm. To clean the items in methacrylate, we
advise you to use tepid water and a neutral, non-alkaline detergent. Do not
use abrasive products, thinners, alcohol.
LEATHER
Our products are manufactured with selected quality materials and leather.
Small veins and grains on the surface are not to be considered defects, but
a guarantee of authenticity. From time to time, as with any natural material,
slight differences in colour may appear.
To clean leather, we advise you to use a specific leather cleaning product.
Our leather is of the highest quality and is ecologically tanned, which does
not make it water-repellent.
PRECAUTIONS AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE
To avoid irregular stretchings of weldings, it is necessary that all the elements,
which must rest on the floor horizontally (on sheets of glass, wheels
or feet), are correctly positioned.
Every element can bear loads fixed in advance as stated in the current price
list; avoid absolutely heavier loads.
Make sure regularly that fixing mechanisms are rightly fixed; please ask for
skill labour if needed.
For all eventualities please contact the retailer or the manufacturer.
Do not climb on to the tables, trolleys and in general any other element.
Do not let the item exposed to the inclemency of the weather or to sunbeams.
To move, even a few inches, tables and in general elements without wheels
resting on the floor, please lift them so that to avoid absolutely scraping
to ground.
Elements with wheels may be moved with extreme caution. Please push
the item always on its structural side.
Avoid items in plate glass to be placed next to heat sources higher than 50
degrees centigrade.
Avoid any direct contact with bodies such as boiling pots, etc; therefore it
is necessary a suitable protection against any possible direct contact with
such bodies.
Before fixing to wall shelves, showcases, containers, please make sure the
wall can bear the loads fixed in advance on the price list. Do not fix such
items on plasterboard or partition walls.
To clean the items in plate glass, we advise you to use specific neutral glass
cleaning products.
Do not use any other product such as thinners or abrasive products.
Once discarded, the product and its components are not to be dispersed in
the environment but given to public waste disposal.
Urbinati cannot be held responsible for an improper use of its products.
